Lockup costs nothing to produce. That's why MSNBC does it.
Effing boring.
I am not interested in criminal minds when the economy is in the shape its in.
MSNBC has a few hours of interesting programming. That's it. That's why all of us are on the web.
who ever put lock up on should be in lock up
I have never watched one episode of Lock Up. I do watch MSNBC every night during the week, but on weekends I don't bother to turn it on at all. Yesterday, when the news of Sarah Palin's resignation broke, I did try to turn to MSNBC for their take on it, but they had started their Lock Up programming a day early because of the holiday, I presume. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was disappointed and disgusted to find that the network I depend on for political commentary is effectively off the air on holidays and weekends, no matter what "breaking news" occurs then.
It's about money, this series is cheap and as long as it stays in the black MSNBC won't care what people think.
as somebody who swears by olbermann & co., i have never understood the whole doc block deal.
i have no interest in watching prisoners.
none whatsoever.
i wish the day would come that they are a 24/7 cable news station rather than this creepy dichotomous mess.
Al-Jazeera has the best BEST BEST 24/7 news station. Unfortunately, the powers-that-be banned it from cable. You have to watch on Livestation.com. But they pay their reporters, and well. And their reporters are some of the brightest minds in the biz.
They cover Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia, Central America, Middle East, and American news. Their coverage of what's going on in Honduras is exemplary.
The families that are running the country want to see the results of their investments and also to make them feel safe knowing that the masses are being controlled.
Why do they continue to push the glamor of being in prison. This is how some of the weak minded people in this stuff. I have met young people who have been the prison and look upon it as a badge of honor. Neither point makes sense. Unfortunately prisons in some states are the biggest or only growth industry. It is a sad commentary on our country.
Let's start a petiton or something so Mr. Phil Griffin will hear OUR opinion on this junk. It'd be like a prison term to watch this all weekend. If it's so profitable put it on a loop 24/7 on its OWN CHANNEL!
They completely cede the high ground/weekend coverage to others when they go dark (politically, anyway) every weekend.
What if something really big happens tomorrow? They scramble and chase everyone else who are currently airing (or purportin to, yes thats you Fixed Noise) NEWS! Then they get an on call anchor to tread water until an "A-Lister" limos in from the Hamptons.
But even then they probably will succomb to Jacko-mania as they did today. I was embarrassed to be a staunch defender/viewer of this channel. They're no better than tabloid HLN lately.
cnn is worse.
Huffpo guys- I know it's a holiday weekend and all, but this is ridiculous. I have made comments on a couple of posts and they disappear. They are not being censored- I'm sure of that- because they are innocuous. Do you guys have some kind of "delete" button you sometimes accidentally lean on? Hello?
Good grief - more Lockup? Oh well, more time to watch C-span! MSNBC needs to change their logo to "The Place for Lockup" not the "Place for Politics." There is so much to tell about Congress, their lobbyist connections, and on and on that would actually INFORM people about what goes on behind the scenes in D.C. and what do we get - Lockup. Maybe they should do a series on all the politicians who have been locked up to keep it relevant to "the place for politics."
