National Review Cover Portrays Obama As A Proctologist (POLL)

Barack Obama has been portrayed as a number of potentially offensive things in cartoons (a chimp, a fist-bumping terrorist) and National Review magazine has proven itself adept at sparking controversy with its cover images (Sonia Sotomayor depicted as an Asian). And so what do you get when you combine the two--that would be President Obama portrayed as a proctologist on the cover of the magazine's latest issue, finger raised in latex glove and all. The cover story has to do with health care, naturally. The magazine did go the extra mile in having Obama utter the immortal line issued before rectal exams far and wide, "just relax."

So, is this cover funny, or just another in a long line of tasteless cartoons? Vote below.

The cover is entirely appropriate. When it comes to economic policy and healthcare reform, American citizens have been taking it up the a$$ from the GOP for so long, Obama is going to have to conduct an examination just to determine how much damage has been done.

Is this magazine cover offensive? Are you kidding me?! And now some people are saying "Bruno's" GQ cover is too risque for viewing too!?! And there will be serious consequences if someone curses on network television or, heaven forbid, has a "costume malfunction" - but it's perfectly fine to show our missiles obliterating their "targets" (whether they be hard or human).

Explain to me how so many people can be so uptight, puritanical and possess such delicate sensibilities on the one hand - while on the other hand seem to have no problem justifying and supporting torture, war and genocide? Explain it! Because I'm getting pretty damn sick of these same people telling me that I have to be Christian to have morals, that I have to be straight to have a loving and committed relationship, that I have to speak English to be an American, and that while I'm supposed to consider every abortion to be murder, I'm also supposed to view every execution as justified and every Iraqi/Afghani civilian casualty merely collateral damage.
