Our readers sent in pictures of many delicious local foods they ate this past weekend -- bought at farmers markets, grown in their backyards, and even produced on their own farms.

HuffPost Green especially loved the mouthwatering pies! Check out the slideshow below and vote on your very favorite.

This article is hard to read in the morning, lunchtime can't come soon enough for me now! Local food always tastes better, and it tastes even better when eating it off of compostable plates! This 4th of July we had a cookout with compostable bagasse plates, cups and forks that I found at:

www.greenhome.com

Its an excellent way to be green, yet simple enough and cheap enough for everyone to do it- I mention greenhome specifically because they have the most affordable compostable products I've seen thus far. Keep up the local food movement guys, change begins with the consumer- and huge props to the "Lady Liberty Tart" - where can I order mine?

I'm actually leaving for lunch right now! I'm such a glutton, I loved them all, and will be stopping by a market to purchase plums after work!
