Hillary Clinton Plans To Raise Profile With Major Speech

After missing two overseas trips due to surgery to repair a broken elbow, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton plans to deliver a major foreign-policy speech at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington next week before departing for India and the ASEAN conference in Thailand on Friday, July 17, aides say.

What is your point? I am making comments on a public comment board IN RESPONSE to news stoires and blogs, not writing blogs and headlines. I think the obessive NEWS and BLOG coverage of everything Palin only gives her fundraising celebrity with the far right. Maybe that is what you want to see happen.

Will it be a speech about the Coup in Honduras? Will it include our intent to severe all relations with that country until their democratically elected president is returned and the military that removed him in jail? Or will it be about the "interim government" and "temporary president" as the AP has been calling it? This is the woman who threatened to bomb Iran. The least she could do is show support for the people of a country right here in our own backyard.

Hillary seriously has to quell the "where's Hillary; why are others taking on her foreign policy; why isn't she with Obama now" questions that are all over the media and Internet right now. I've read some nasty things about her on Politico that couldn't be allowed on this site. I wish she could have traveled with Obama, especially G8 would have been good for her image. It was such an important trip and one the US Secretary of State should be at. It would have been great to see her at the side of the president. I agree with others who say her reputation will be mended with this speech.
