Obama-Supporting Counties Got Twice As Much Stimulus Aid

Thank you for your note to us.

The paragragh you quote from the story does not contradict the headline, or the subhead of the story, which clearly states that Obama's areas of support often get a larger share of federal money than McCain's areas of support.

As the story points out, Obama's areas of support have received twice as much money per capita from the stimulus package as McCain's areas of support. The $5.5 billion received by counties that supported McCain represent the minority of the funds received.

Here is another piece of logic for those who lack capapcity for rational thought.

Stimulus expenditure is generally put into large projects.

Large projects require a lot of planning and so can not be started immediately.

Because it is do soon, the projects being enacted thus far are those which were planned BEFORE anyone thought a stimulus package would be necessary.

These planned projects were undoubtedly implemented in Democrat leaning counties because

Republicans believe that the free market will spontaneously and miraculously build them roads and

that the only situation where public infrastructure investment is appropriate is rebuilding the infrastructure of foreign countries they recently bombed.

During Bushs time in office I became suspicious of the same thing happening only in reverse. I saw a pattern of denial of aide to states that had supported Democrats. Oregon found itself losing Government funding in many areas, most especially logging because Oregon had been almost entirely a supporter of the Democratic Party. I'm willing to bet if the record is examined closely that a similar trend would be discovered in regard to other states that supported the Democrats. What better way to punish those who stood against you than to deny their state federal funds.

Infrstructure expenditure is concentrated on areas that require upgraded infrastructure

Areas that require upgraded infrastructure are areas with high populations

Areas with high populations are usually urbanised areas.

Urbanised areas almost universally voted in favour of Obama.

This is not favourtism, its just reality.

the repugnants did nto want to helptheir constituants, the dems did and asked for waht they needed, this is an inaccurate portrayal unless it is taken into account the resistance to by the repugnants to even receiving the stimulus money inthe first place as well as the actual need for the funds.
I mean NC and SC had to borrow money befroe the stimulus to help pay their unemployment obligations, this was in early jan 09

The failure to mention that only a tiny fraction of the stimulus has actually been spent is irresponsible.
The print media in this Country is circling the drain because they are on the take.
