Jaws dropped last month when Sony Pictures canceled the $50-million Brad Pitt movie Moneyball only days before it was scheduled to start shooting - but now, apparently, the studio is working to shut those mouths.

The West Wing writer and creator Aaron Sorkin has been brought in to do a quick re-write on a script that Sony had ultimately deemed too arty and documentary-like in approach, reports The New York Times.

As a huge fan of Sorkin's, I sort of hope he gets back on coke for this job. It worked well enough when he was writing the first few seasons of The West Wing, and since he's been sober his writing has basically, uh, sucked.

Well, good luck to him. However, speaking as a Sorkin fan, I'm not looking forward to the movie being retitled "What kind of day has it been?".

i wonder how many pages the script will be with all those one line responses of his... "Yes." {dialogue dialogue} "Yes." {big words, something smart/witty.} "No." End scene.
