Maura Tierney Mystery Illness Delays 'Parenthood'

The production start has been postponed for eight weeks to late September "due to medical evaluation that (Tierney) is undergoing," NBC said. "We are unable to release further details and ask that you respect her privacy at this time."

I've liked Maura Tierney since her days on News Radio and have always considered her a talented and attractive actress. I wish her loved ones the best during this difficult time and truly hope for a prompt and full recovery. Hang in there, Maura! We're all rooting for you.

Maura is sweet, talented and gorgeous. I have always enjoyed her presence on TV and in film. I see her face and always think of that classic scene in "Primary Colors" about shooting doves. It was beautifully played and hysterical.

I truly hope whatever she is dealing with can be treated and treated quickly. All the best Maura!

Not to brag, but a few years back I and some friends were hanging out in a NYC dive and Ms. Tierney ended up hanging at our table. A very funny and obviously smart woman. I wish her the best of luck.

It is not a MYSTERY illness, what a silly headline. Tabloid.

Maura is ill. She and her Doctors know what she has. That doesn't make it a MYSTERY illness, it makes it a PRIVATE illness.

She was one of my favorite characters on ER. I wish her well, and will look forward to her work on this new show.

In the meantime, she has a right to privacy.
