Most strawberries in markets are the low quality mushy tasteless 'Camarosa' variety bred to go on the space shuttle and shipped long distances. The better ones are the 'Chandler' variety and of course if they are locally grown/organic even better.

I bought some organic grapes the other day and brought them home to find that they were imported from Mexico. I live in NY! Oops.

After thousands of years of human intervention, it would be fair to say that all our food is genetically engineered. So, I guess that label just doesn't scare me the way it is supposed to.
