I've got little respect for some pretty aristocratic heiress like Bruni. Not to mention some of the things she says.. yikes.

Maybe it's the pretty that u don't like. Her statements have sounded very pro woman to me...

She not aristocratic, that's just a lie put out there by some whenever these weekly news items come on about her. If she was the least aristocratic, she'd never have said or done some of the things she has.

I really want to know what is HuffPo obsession with Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy. There is a story on her every other month. Never Sarkozy. Or, how about Angela Merkel, Germany's first female chancellor.

Basically, they are shallow. And closet euro-centrists.

Bastille Day, the French national holiday, commemorates the storming of the Bastille, which took place on 14 July 1789 and marked the beginning of the French Revolution. The Bastille was a prison and a symbol of the absolute and arbitrary power of Louis the 16th's Ancient Regime. By capturing this symbol, the people signaled that the king's power was no longer absolute: power should be based on the Nation and be limited by a separation of powers.

Their revolution began just three years after ours. They were our allies in our revolutionary war, WWI and WWII. but the second they didn't join us in an invasion we belittled and mocked them and even re-named French Fries, freedom fries. I think we owe the French a national apology.

Since that latest incident was purely the action and a decision by an illegal government put in by the Supreme Court, those individuals alone are responsible for any apology owed. They never spoke for the United States in a legally official capacity from 2000 to 2008, and therefore any apology owed for their xenophobia must come from Bush, Cheney and any other former officials they appointed when the time comes for their sentencing and they're standing in a criminal dock.

You are always in love before you divorce. It's the fate of 50 % of marriages in America.

Who is Sarkozy paying to get his face all over Huffpost. He's giving the French a bad name all over the world. How rude to be playing "touchy-feely" while the Prime Minister of India is speaking. If they were in my middle school class, I'd send them to the principal's office for a good lesson in how to behave in public. It's all so fake. After their combined lurid pasts how can they be taken seriously as giddy newlyweds? If Sarkozy weren't doing so much harm to the French citizens, I could laugh about your being smitten with such a dreadful pair. This is supposed to be a site for adult political and social news. Grow up!

No, it's the STYLE section. For political news, you have to click on "POLITICS"

de rien.

PS. The problem with politicians is that you find always people who agree or desagree with their politic. Today you still find people , who think GWB was a great President. If you are a real leftie I can understand you don't like him and his politic, but some still do.
