Olbermann Slams Palin's Energy Op-Ed: "The 'Op' Could Have Stood For Facts Optional"

Sarah Palin's Washington Post op-ed railing against a cap-and-trade bill aimed at controlling climate change has some policy wonks questioning just how much Palin actually understands energy legislation.

As Steven Benen notes,

In an impressive feat, Palin managed to write an entire piece about energy policy without mentioning the words "global warming," "climate change," "carbon," or "emissions." There's "no denying" the need to address the issue, but there's also no explaining why. (She did, however, manage to work in the phrase "cap-and-tax" four times.)

Keith Olbermann joined the chorus tonight in his discussion with the Nation's Chris Hayes. Olbermann slammed Palin's writing, saying ""The 'Op' in Op-ed could have stood for facts optional here."

How about a discussion of the issues without insulting those who disagree? I believe Global Warming is not a serious problem. I do believe that the energy crises is being made worse because of the scare tactics used by environmentalists to influence voters. I believe abortion is a worse sin in the history of America than slavery was. I believe in equality. Sam Crow said black people were less than human, roe v wade said the same thing about fetuses. I believe in the Fair Tax. Corporations don't pay taxes, they pay operating expenses and include them in the price they charge for their goods and services. I believe poor people are the pawns of politicians. They pay proportionally higher taxes than the rest of the population. The poor are criminally used as voting pawns by the people who scare them into supporting special interest groups agendas. I could go on but this should give you an idea of where I stand. I think that by communicating respectfully people on the right and people on the left can work together as Americans.

I think Olbermann has a h@rd on for Palin. He keeps bringing her up on everything. usually when a Vice-presidential canidate loses the election they disappear, but the media(NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX News, MSNBC, CNN) keep bringing her back, especially Olbermann. Let her disappear like the other vice-presidential canidates of the past.

This woman couldn't pour water from a boot with instructions on the heel. "Global warming" and "Climate Change" are well outside her range; she's far more comfortable with one-syllable words like "cap" and "tax" and "cat" and "hat".

The federal auditors notified Alaska officials on June 26, nearly three weeks ago. And there had already been half dozen lawsuits filed before that. But we didn't hear a peep out of Governor Sarah Palin about this scandal while she was explaining why she's bailing out or going fishing.
