Top Ten Dick Cheney Excuses (VIDEO)

Just when you thought you were rid of Dick Cheney news breaks of some evil program, or government lies, or both and you just know he's involved. When he was VP he directed the CIA to lie to Congress about a counterterrorism program that, while still a mystery, was so reprehensible to Obama's new CIA director it was canceled as soon as he learned of it.

David Letterman is not one to shy away from mockery of the Bush administration or political figures involved in scandal, so last night he did a top ten list devoted to Dick Cheney's excuses as to why he had the CIA lie to Congress.

I laugh...these people watched impassively, probably cheering, as Bush gave away the treasury to his friends. Now, they have imposed an "It must be instant or it's not working" standard on Obama's attempts to rebuild the economy.

Cheney read too many "Bourne" novels--you know the ones by Robert Ludlum, and acted excellently by Matt Damon? ["The Bourne Identity", "The Bourne Supremacy", "The Bourne Ultimatum"]

Remember Treadstone and Blackbriar? Those were the two programs that were essentially assassination teams. So, Cheney was just acting out the "Bourne" novels/movies.

Hey Dave, why don't you do a Top Ten list of Obama excuses as to why stimulus package has failed to help the economy?

Maybe it failed because governors, like mine in Ohio, used the stimulus money for local governments instead of construction projects that would give people like my husband a job. Maybe it is also failing because ALL OF THE MONEY HASN'T GONE OUT YET!
