China Warns Citizens In Algeria Of Al Qaeda Threat

BEIJING (Reuters) - China has warned its citizens in Algeria about possible attacks from al Qaeda in retribution for a Chinese government crackdown in the Muslim region of Xinjiang.

The Chinese embassy in Algeria on its web site urged all Chinese people and organizations to be more aware of safety precautions and to strengthen security measures "in consideration of the situation after the July 5 incident in Urumqi."

Ilook at this picture of these Chinese Troops and note that they are wearing American style Kevlar helmets. Who else are we selling American Uniform equipment to. Will American Troops who go into battle with any Foreign forces be able to tell the difference on the battlefield. An episode in Iraq has already proven that such things have happened at a heavy price. What fools in our Government are allowing this practice.

I doubt our tax dollars are paying for them. The Chinese are probably buying the helmets from American defense companies if that's where they're coming from

Well, regardless of whether that is true or not they should be prohibited from selling any equipment that resembles equipment that our military presently uses. During Vietnam the VC would on occasion cause two or more American Units to fire upon each other by getting in between and shooting both ways. This would help enemy troops employ Trojan Horse methods which would cause problems in battle for our troops. Uniform recognition is one of the most important means of identifying the opposing forces. If this kind of thing happens we won't even have that to depend on.
