Biden Flies Into Cantor's District Today

Vice President Biden will travel to the Richmond, VA area where he'll hold an event at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College highlighting Recovery Act progress creating and saving jobs, supporting small businesses and boosting the local economy."

So far, the state of Virginia is in line to receive more than $5 billion from the $787 billion plan.

House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, a life-long resident of Richmond, said last week that the stimulus bill was "full of pork-barrel spending, government waste and massive borrowing cleverly called 'stimulus.'"

"The plain truth is that President Obama's economic decisions have not produced jobs, have not produced prosperity, and have not worked," Cantor said.

The White House Middle Class Task Force, led by Biden, will also be holding meetings in Alexandria and Richmond focused on health care reform, specifically on how seniors will be affected.
