How To Make Jam

Whether you grow your own berries, buy them at your local farmers market, or visit berry farms to get your fix, take the next green step and make your own homemade jam.

The simplest way to preserve berries is to freeze them. The trick is to lay the berries out on a baking tray and freeze them individually before bagging them up -- otherwise, the berries will stick together. Or you can go for the time-honoured route and try your hand at jam-making. [...] It was also quite fast - it took longer to pick the berries than to make the jam.
