Patience and forgiveness are powerful virtues.

I think that picking on these people is deplorable(even if they relish it). I have never been a fan of "Redneck" jokes because they sounded too much like black jokes about poor white folks. I decided a long time ago to make a stand.

The "alligator on a stick" lady has her name spelled "'Abear". I lived in Baton Rouge as a child, and the name "Hebert" was common down there. It is pronounced "Aybare". I wonder if someone was guessing at the spelling?

"People get ready for the change that's comming". Wasn't that a nice message and song line too?

. We still have the same problems and they are fed by the type of propoganda this article proposes. I am better than you, no I am better than you etc. etc. etc. Face it people, our corporate owned and controlled media and government loves to keep us divided. This is just another example. They do not want us to unite, ever, and we buy into it. We are all people with the same needs, wants and desires. The media wants us to believe that we are seperate, I don't buy it and neither should you. Hate your neighbor, should be a thing of the past.

They are simply afraid that if we ever wake up to the fact that we are all being ripped off by corporate fascism we might revolt. I'm not saying to go out and pick up a gun. I'm just suggesting that we all pull aside the curtain and reveal the truth. United we stand, divided we fall!!

Peace!

Unfortunately, there appears to be many who feel they are better than others. It is very sad that people feel that, due to anonymity of the internet that they treat others like inferiors and with no respect that is due to every human being. Heaven forbid that someone something bad about them, though.

People will always have a difference in opinion on various issues, as dartagnan posted "Fere libenter homines id quod volunt credunt." a common quote from Caesar... "Men will freely believe what they wish". But in the freedom of having ones own opinion, one must allow others to have theirs, without reprisal and vilification.

It was refreshing to read your posts... thanks for trying.

You know what's really funny? These people have taken a negative steriotype that you Liberals have tagged them with and thrown it in your face. They are having fun doing it too (and that really bumbs you out) Some of you understand that and are ticked off, but for most of you this fact has simply gone right over your shallow heads. Now that's funny right there!

Instead of returning your hatred with more hatred they turned it into a joke. Good for them!

Peace!

If there was any hatred it is only over talk radio whipping a hundred million of you baboons into a political juggernaut that took over and wrecked the country, that's all.

Here in England, they teach their school children you are the most uncviilized people on earth, literally ruiners of civilization. You brought down the mighty USA.
10:57 AM on 07/19/2009
I don't think many people in the USA really care what the UK thinks or why they would teach their kids what you say other than the UK is still ticked off about the American Revolution

If you don't see the hatred in this comment section you are being willfully ignorant. Just read it and you will know what I was refering to. Your also assuming facts not in evidence, based on steriotypes. I am not a fan of the right wing.

Furthermore, don't get me started on England. You have enough problems of your own without worrying about us. I don't support useless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Do you? If not why does your government?

Sorry, but the fascist elite in both our countries are the ruiners of civilization. These "rednecks" are just out having some fun, are some of them brainwashed sure, but not to any larger extent than you.

By the way, I just happen to be a Yankee Libertarian who supports freedom and liberty.

Peace!
10:05 AM on 07/19/2009
I am pretty sure the rednecks have their own stereotypes against people. You have your own stereotypes against liberals, just as I have some about conservatives. It is hatred is just what we come to expect. Please do not overestimate your knowledge of liberals.

Peace!

I am a registered independent, voted for "O" because of his dignity, respect for others, and willingness to listen to dissenting opinions. This was a trait I admired in him. It would appear that his supporters do not share these worthwhile traits.

If the postings here on this forum are examples of what liberals stand for and how the behave toward fellow humans, I see no difference between their close minded fanaticism and that of the extreme right.

The Constitution claims "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal"... evidently both sides of the political coin forget this important statement and feel that people are only equal if they hold the same beliefs, and all others are inferior if they have a different opinion.

Yes, rednecks have their own stereotypes, but that was not what I was addressing. I am not a conservative, at least not what it is now known as. So please don't overestimate your knowledge of me. Sorry if pointing out the faults of Liberals offends you. However, you should also be able to understand the shortcomings of your own party. How will ignoring it make it better? Most of the comments below were posted by Liberals showing their hatred of rednecks, true or false?

Peace!

HMMM, I see the purpose of this post. To present these people as being republicans. As a conservative latino I would never attend this event. I don't think a latino who looks middle eastern such as myself would fit in. My yes my liberal friends I give you this one. Conservatives need to shine the spotlight on our intellectuals. This is the main reason I was saddened when William F Buckley Jr. passed away. I know consider Thomas Sowell and Charls Krauthammer our leading conservative intellectuals. The only positive i see here is that if you ask any of these people what their political affiliation is, they would say Republican. If if you ask them what conservatism is they would probably give you a blank stare. That's why I am pro intellectual conservative.
05:05 AM on 07/19/2009
....Conservative Latinos are like a platypus......or a dodo bird.......
.....I am far left Liberal......
I have friends who are Conservative Lationos.
They are so dark ....yet they think kthey are so wh.ite.......
not even if they bathed in_clorox....would they ever be wh.ite..
SAD............! They are almost self_hat.ing..........!

"Conservatives need to shine the spotlight on our intellectuals."

That's a bit of a problem since for the past 30 years the Republicans have been pandering to racists and ignoramuses and denouncing anybody with more than a third-grade education as an "America-hater" and an "elitist." You can't be both the intellectual and the anti-intellectual party at the same time.

Looks like fun to me. I notice you only use the few pictures you consider demeening like you do the Tea Parties and like the phony picture you all used of Bush getting a medal and calling it a bow.
This is the most dishonest site I have ever been on.
When I called you guy on the phony picture I was ignored.
So whatever I wish I could have been their.
They all look like America Patriots with a very good senses of humor.
Something liberals sorely lack.

Try to borrow some IQ points from somebody.

"Inhumanitas omni aetate molesta est." - Cicero

Can you read Latin?

I had five years of the language with degrees in Fine Arts, Ancient history, and Philosophy.

I am a cattle farmer from West Virginia, and I find yours and other's remarks derogatory, degrading, and offensive.

My family has been in the Virginias since 1735, three of which fought in the Revolutionary War. Members of my family have fought for this country in every war since.

You are disrespectful in the very least, a$$inine in the very most..

I am pretty sure "American" patriots do not worship the Confederate Flag. I am pretty sure the confederates tried to destroy the union and defended slavery.
10:15 AM on 07/19/2009
The "Confederate Flag" which actually was one of many and mainly flown on CSN ships, has and was a symbol of rebellion against the establishment.

True Patriots question government and the establishment. The people who fought the Revolutionary War were Patriots and Rebels

Also, If you look at the roles of our current military you would find a greater proportion of our troops hail from confederate states.

Only recently has the "Confederate" flag been attached to the symbol of slavery thing.

Truly sad to see all the hatred on this post. I'm sure most of you think all these people are trailor trash living off of welfare. You might be surprized to learn that many if not most of them have a higher standard of living than people living in cities. You may or may not make more money but that isn't my point. Many people living in the country own their houses and property as apposed to the bank. They get fresh produce right from their own gardens, they live in virtually crime free neighborhoods. They are not riddled with credit car debt from trying to keep up with some social ideal. Living in the city is fine and I don't feel the need to put you down as easy as that would be.

Peace!

This is hysterical! I don't know about East Dublin, GA but I have relatives in Dublin, GA. I haven't been back there since the early 90s but I found the people in the town to be very friendly and a cute southern town in the middle of nowhere.
