Seth MacFarlane Gets Emmy Nomination For "Outstanding Voice-Over Performance" In Family Guy Episode "I Dream Of Jesus" (VIDEO)

The hit animated series "Family Guy" scored a major triumph when it became the the first animated series to be nominated for an Emmy (Best Comedy Series) in 48 years. The last animated series to be up for an Emmy was "The Flinstones" in 1961.

Indeed, "Family Guy" received not one but two Emmy nominations. The second is for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance, which series creator Seth MacFarlane hopes to take home for his portrayal of Peter Griffin in the episode "I Dream of Jesus." Watch clips from the episode below.

Family Guy was funny in 1999 and 2000, but it has not been funny for a long time. South Park is much funnier, and won an emmy (just not in this category). Family Guy is OK, but it will never be as good as South Park.

The most irreverent show on television, bar none. It is so outrageously not PC that you just have to marvel at the writing and wonder how they come up with this stuff. This is the only "comedy" show that I ever find funny in reruns as well as first-runs. Completely bizarre and yet you can't look away.

This reminds me of why I don't watch 'Family Guy.' I could see Seth MacFarlane getting a Voice-Over Emmy for this should the pool be a little shallow this year. He does a good job.
