Angelina and Billy Bob, Denise and Charlie, Johnny and Winona....at one point these relationships seemed so enduring to the parties involved that they got each other names tattooed on their bodies. Alas, the ink outlasted their love, with another tattooed couple officially divorced this week. Some of these celebrities have come with creative ways to cover up those physical reminders of what once was, and some have not.

Not a big fan of tattoos, but people have a right to do whatever they want to their bodies.

Yes, lack of forethought has its price.... it reminds everyone you can't think too far ahead.... and are exposed as a person who doesn't know what in life is and isn't forever.

People with tattoos probably didn't get enough attention growing up. However, I'd rather they slice their wrists than to have that ugliness staring me in the face.

Well that's a bit extreme, don't you think?

and people with tattoos would rather you slice your wrists rather than spout out garbage.

TATTOO - A permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

For the most part, I feel that tattoos deface the body, kind of like graffiti. Having said that, I have to appreciate a tattoo that is very beautiful, deeply expressive or extremely witty. In the latter category would be the line from Dante: "Lasiciate ogni speranza, voi ch'entrata", placed just above the mons veneris.

Any tattoo artist will till you not to get your lover's name or portrait as a tattoo. Because there's the possibility the relationship will not last. That's what I've seen many times through the years. Instead get an image that reminds you of them. Like an Oscar Mayer Weinermobile.

Dorky and tacky, especially the people represented, lol. To me, a tattoo would have to have very deep meaning along with some mystical spirituality, such as something from my celtic ancestry and/or druidism. But so far, I've resisted. I'm not just gonna go out and get a tattoo for the sake of getting a tattoo to look cool, or show something off, someone's name, whatever.

I'm not against tattoo's, but I'm against people doing it for the sake of doing it. Quite often, a little 1 inch by 1 inch tattoo can say volumes more than someone who has their whole upper body and sleeves tattoo'd.

And as far as using names, it just shows it was done for all of the wrong reasons, which is my point. 2 KIDS fall in love, get drunk, decide to "prove" their love by getting a tattoo, blah, blah, blah. The best way to prove love is to stick with it through the ups and downs, to live out that commitment to each other. No tattoo will ever do that for you.

By the way - did y'all know Winston Churchill's mother was tattooed? She was. A lot of upper class Victorian women had tattoos.

Even the elites of society had their concubines, their mistresses, etc. One of France's most famous Chateau's was built specifically to house the mistress to one of the King's. ;o) Just because you have money, power, wealth, status, doesn't mean you're not above reproach. ;o)

If you think that makes you any less trashy for having one, you're wrong.

Nothing like taking a woman's clothes off and reading a tattoo with another guy's name

Tats have just become another fashion accessory, most people think they look stylish (David Beckham) but are usually quite tacky.
Johnny Depp seems to have Amy's

I dont know about other women, but the reason my first tattoo was a "tramp stamp" was so I could hide it from people who are rude and ignorant like half of the posters here.

Tattoos are weak, but very trendy. Like the hula hoop. I see them on women and it instantly turns them into Phyllis Diller, no matter what they look like. If I got her home and found one, she would be walking home.

Are you sure it's not for guys to look at while being approached from behind to distract them from your lack of common sense and personality?

Did you bother to find out what the term meant, before branding yourself so foolishly? Probably not.
