David Beckham's Shirtless Victory (PHOTOS)

Huffington Post   First Posted: 08/17/09 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 02:40 PM ET

David Beckham is trying his best to make soccer popular in America, and one tactic for filling stadiums could be to keep taking his shirt off.

Beckham and the LA Galaxy played and beat the New York Red Bulls 3-1 at the Meadowlands Thursday night. After the victory, Beckham whipped off his jersey before walking to the locker room, tattoo sleeves and Armani-endorsing abs on display.

I'm not sure fans are in love with him any more....a lot of people paid big buck to see him play and w hardly ever posted. As for the tattoo...they look nasty as the color seem to be fading into that icky green.

Gross arm tatoos.

He may be young and buff now, but when he is an old, gray, potbellied grandfather, he is going to look like every other overly tatooed beer guzzler.

Most over rated soccer player in the sport today....was good...but not great.
He is good at marketing himself......yeah, did a look of good for the LA Galaxy!

I'm with you. It's gross. And it goes to show you that soccer players have underdeveloped upper bodies. Guess they don't need them.

Probably true. It might actually be a hindrance to carry the extra weight of muscular arms. However, the body is gorgeous if overdecorated.

Poor David, getting so bored in his privilege life, he has to desecrate his temple by making himself appear underprivileged. He still looks good from the neck up, lol, but he's no longer the fine male speciman he once was.

I still say Eric "The King" Cantona, who tutored him along, is the real deal, the real hunkiest man to ever walk the planet.

What do tattoos have to do with being "underprivileged"? That's an ignorant, almost racist, statement. Tattoos are a form of personal expression-- done by people of all walks of life, of all income levels, of all educational levels, of all backgrounds-- requiring a level of commitment that most people (such as yourself) would probably never be able to muster because A) tattoos are permanent and B) tattoos are painful to get. And oftentimes, the personal significance of these tattoos goes well beyond skin deep-- something that a skin-deep, superficial, stereotyping, prejudiced person like yourself would probably never understand.

I don't have a single tattoo on me and have no desire to get one, but I respect the commitment, sacrifice, and thought that many people put into their tattoos.

It's not uncommon for footballers to exchange shirts after the game -though usually it's reserved for a big match or an international.

Oh my, that's it!? But he looks so good on those 'larger than life' billboards. He wears that suit well though. :)
