I Like ItI Don’t Like It

WASHINGTON President Barack Obama acknowledges "I'm a little frumpy," and says he's not worried about it.

Asked in an NBC "Today" show interview about the well-worn bluejeans he wore to the pitcher's mound to throw out the first pitch in last week's major league baseball All-Star game, Obama said, "I hate to shop."

WATCH:

He said that up until two years ago, he had only four suits and said "those jeans are comfortable." He said he would leave it up to first lady Michelle to set the fashion pace at the White House, saying: "Here's my attitude: Michelle, she looks fabulous. ... For people who want a president to look great in tight jeans, I'm sorry."

The interview was broadcast Tuesday.

Did I miss something? I didn't hear anyone call his jeans "mom jeans". What's with the stupid reference in the title of this article or have I just gone crazy?

The jeans/sneakers/jacket ensemble was awful, nerdy, and dated....his throw was girly, as was his bowling throw, as was his Ellen dance.....the guy is oddly doofusy/effeminate anytime he's not in a suit in front of TOTUS.

Barack, may I call your Barack, you look just great in those jeans and keep wearing them though I prefer you in khakis but I'll give you 5 stars in either. By the way, I loved the dark grey suit you had on recently with maroon tie. Par excelence! I've been waiting for a dark grey suit. You wear your clothes just fine on your lanky frame so just keep doing your comfort thing and what you feel good in.

He's a very good looking man. Even in modestly forward looking clothes he would look great. There are jeans and all sorts of clothes with which he could do a moderate makeover. Nothing "drastic". There are classic styles that, even in jeans, that would suit him age appropriately. It would be fun to see a new dynamic and yet keep him in his comfort zone. It's like getting a friend or lover to try something new.

All that said.. it doesn't matter. President Obama's concerns don't enter into that category. He doesn't need clothes to help him function as President. He already wears the cloak of dignity, intellect, integrity, purpose, etc. Should he find a sharp outfit under the Christmas tree this year who knows? But I Iike the values and attributes he has on all the time, they never go out of fashion.

Shallow on a whole new level.
Clothes do not a person make. Besides, I saw absolutely nothing wrong with his jean.
One does not neccessarily have to conform to another's ideas to be deemed acceptable.I know, cos I'm a renegade.Rules are meant to set certain precepts and boundaries and not to be used as a stranglehold.

I've said it before. And I'll keep saying it until it sinks in.

Get over the jeans thing. I remember someone on this very blog criticizing him for being photographed in his swimsuit in Hawaii, even though he didn't pose for the shot or know it was being taken-and wasn't wearing speedos. At the time I asked if he was supposed to swim in a tee shirt or sweater? To top it off, the blogger, a woman, said he was undignified because his "privates" were showing in the picture.

At that point, I immediately sprang into action. I felt it was my patriotic duty to carefully, microscopically, examine the bathing suit picture to see if I could "detect" what this lady was referring to. (We must protect the youngsters.) Unfortunately, I was unable to uncover the view she'd gotten. I did at that time request that she give us a link to the picture she had viewed. No luck so far. If the lady who has that picture is reading this, it's not too late to post the picture you saw. (Why am I beginning to think her "view" was the result of an overactive imagination?)

Seriously, I don't think I want the president "posing" in skin tight jeans. Not any more than any other nearly 50 year old, husband and father should sport that look.. He knows that. If you think the current "jeans" criticism is foolish, what would it be like if he turned out in tight jeans? Get over it.

So ludicrous! As I said on my blog:

President Obama is not concerned with rock star accessories like skin tight jeans. He's not posing for a photo like the Rolling Stones' Sticky Fingers album cover wearing his 501s any time soon.

So he hates to shop? This is not a tragedy. If this is what "mom jeans" look like, then bring it on.

I mean was Bush Jr. a superstar because he wore great jeans down in Crawford on the ranch.
Rock on Mr. President!
