DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- How much is your old car worth? Chrysler Group thinks up to $9,000.

As part of a new incentive program tied to Uncle Sam's upcoming "Cash for Clunkers" program, the automaker will begin running ads tomorrow themed "Double Cash for Your Old Car." The push offers all buyers of most 2009-model Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep models a cash incentive of $4,500 or zero-percent financing for 72 months via GMAC Financial Services.

Most "clunkers" won't qualify for a voucher due to the many restrictions. In those cases, car donation is a good alternative. The donor gets a tax deduction and the charity gets the proceeds of the sale of the donated car. For details go to http://www.cars4charities.org.

Personally, I think Chrysler Designs are great. I mean their vehicles really look cool. Sorry to say, but Japanese cars look, well, Japanese. HOWEVER. They obviously need to improve quality control and gas mileage.

We need to stop the corruption by Goldman, bank of Amerika, and Jp Morgan. Stop the Geithner and bernanke. . Obama's policies may not be working as well as many had hoped:

1st 100 days - There are 2.9 million more people unemployed in May than there were unemployed in January. The unemployment rate went from 7.6% to 9.4%.
Since May 2008, we have lost 5.5 million jobs.
The biggest losers were: Manufacturing 1.5 million lost Finance
& Prof Serv 1.5 million lost
Construction 1.1 million lost
Retail & Leisure 1.3 million lost

Why are you posting this here? Also, How do we know that your numbers are Obama's fault. As I recall the Gop's were saying just last October that "the economy was fundamentally sound." What happened to that?

getting rid of one clunker for a new clunker. no thanks. the gov. program is not as easy as it appears. your clunker must get terrible mileage and the new car must get a percentage better than the old car, or you don't get the entire amount. i have an old ford truck on it's last leg that get 10-12 mpg, will trade that for a new car,,,,,,,,,,but not chrysler.

I'm curious as to whether Chrysler is offering cash for the clunker that they created, the Pacifica?

You recall that creation, right, Chrysler? The car that you no longer make which violates federal emission standards and that requires me to add oil at least once between my 3,000 mile oil changes? Surely you recall that you've instructed your frustrated dealers to tell their long-time customers that this is a perfectly normal and acceptable standard.

You don't recall us? Your loyal buyers that are still making payments on a car that is beyond repair and has required numerous days in the shop?

For a refresher, feel free to visit this website:

Then let me know what you'll do for me; a customer for 15 years who has vowed never to purchase from you again.

No wonder Chrysler went bankrupt with ideas like this.

The working poor depend on those clunkers to get to work. What are they supposed to do when the clunkers are gone? And why do you suppose nobody ever mentions this problem?

I believe the clunker must have been owned for at least one year.

It's already not very good to consumers (even before the launch) with all the scams. Buyer beware: scams are popping up with this program as we speak, make sure to consult this checklist: http://butasforme.com/2009/07/17/cash-for-clunkers-the-ultimate-bait-and-switch-marketing-tool/
