BANGKOK — Hillary for president, again? She says it's unlikely, but in a Thai television interview Wednesday, Hillary Rodham Clinton didn't completely close that door.

Asked whether she still aspired to be the first female American president, she said, "That's not anything I'm at all thinking about," adding that she is "100 percent focused" on her role as President Barack Obama's secretary of state.

So has she given up hope of getting to the White House?

"I don't know, but I doubt very much that anything like that will ever be part of my life," replied the 61-year-old former first lady and former U.S. senator.

Pressed further, Clinton said, "Well, I'm saying no because I have a very committed attitude to the job I have. And so that's not at all on my radar screen."

She also dismissed talk in Washington that because her public profile has dipped in recent weeks she may be playing a lesser role in the Obama administration.

Such talk, she said, began when she fell and broke her right elbow on June 17 and was forced to cancel two major overseas trips. Suddenly people in Washington were asking, "Where is she? She's gone," Clinton said.

"Not to be taken seriously," she said of the speculation.

No one should be surprised that Obama has held the spotlight on foreign policy, Clinton told her interviewers. After all, he is the president.

"I tried to be the president and was not successful," she lamented.

One interviewer told Clinton that for a while during last year's race for the Democratic presidential nomination he thought she was going to win.

"So did I," she replied.

Hillary is doing a great job at State. She was a great Senator from New York and New Yorkers miss her. Should she decide to run for President again I'd support her. Reagan was defeated twice before he became President at age 69. If she wants it, I believe she'd have a lot of support. I'd vote for her.

Maybe you should check your Funk & Wagnall's for the definition of "arrogant", because nothing in this article was anywhere near arrogant. However, if you've just been jonesing for your "I Hate Hillary" fix since she's been out of sight recuperating; then maybe you should check some 12 step plan for your addiction.

So she could only be considered arrogant if stated so in this article? That's some dazzling logic there, Bertrand Russell.

Heck in 12 years she'll only be 73, which is still about 157 years younger than Reagan was. So, why not?

She's already really unhealthy. How do I know? The stress of not being in the limelight and her weight.

Besides we have a very popular president now. He will win a second term. Then it will be too late for poor Hillary. If she can't control her weight now, I doubt that she will be able to then.

"I tried to be the president and was not successful," she lamented.

Is she talking about the 8 years she lived in the WH, or the campaign to move back into the WH?

I have my DVR set to watch Hillary on Meet the Press this weekend. I MISS HER. I wish she was our President.

Be glad she's not. We have the President we need and the SOS we need. If she were President, we definitely would not be having a discussion on healthcare reform. It would have been dead in March.

I take that to mean that ethics in high public office are not important to you.

The least America can do for its children is to ensure that honesty and the highest of ethical standards are prerequisites for public office. We may not all like all that President Obama does, but he is mind blowingly honest. He also has once-in-our-lifetime leadership skills -- essential in these times of crises.

Neither of these attributes appear anywhere on Hillary Clinton's list of attributes.

What?

Back to a lying, cheating, shadowy, overly sexed, sweaty president with an interfering, nasty, dishonest wife? You have to be kidding. Not in a million years.

It is my personal thought that President Obama will ask HRC to replace VP Biden next term. She will then be positioned to run in 2016. I'm betting she goes for it. With any luck, she may even pull it off as well.

I like her better at State and from what I've read, the diplomats love her. Her exposure to world leaders is unprecedented; her community organizing is not as strong. And, a large part of my distaste for her running for President is the thought of another dynasty. No more Bushes, ever, and for good measure, no more Clinton's until Chelsea meets the Presidential age requirement.

How about we give the man a tad more than 6 months in office before we start arranging the wake? President Obama will be the assumed nominee in 2012. Typically, a Party does not have a primary contest when it has an incumbent in the WH. It would be political mayhem to do so. It costs a lot, leads to devisiveness, and exposes the Party to being undercut by the other Party where the same arguments are leveled against the winner.

Hillary is doing a great job as Secretary of State. Some people are trying to cause problems for the Hillary and Obama and between them. I realize there are still some extremelly devoted Hillary fans who are still rather unhappy, looking for problems where there are none. They make Hillary look weak when she is not. The S0S works with the president and advises the Pres but is not the Pres. She is supporting the pres and vis versa. If something is amiss it will be on Obama's back not Clinton's.
Some people see sexism in everything it seems. Get a life!

I am a woman. There is no sexism when it comes to Hillary Clinton. She made some extremely bad choices during her careers. She will be forever judged on those choices. She will never be president.
