Is This The Stupidest Person Ever? (VIDEO)

Stupidest Person Ever

We're praying, really really hard, that this is a joke, because if it's not and this person has survived as long as she has it means that we've reversed the course of evolution and have no hope as a species.

At a 2008 city council meeting the politicians and citizens of Santa Cruz were treated to testimony from a young woman who may, in fact, be the stupidest person alive. She began by explaining that food is good:

I think that we should make a perfect pesticide for the crops but it's good for people and healthy and keeps the crops preserved too because we need the food because it's food and stuff.

That, while expressed poorly, is the smartest thing she says in the video. She goes on to say:

We can be rich in cotton and mining metals and silkworms and we can makes things, we can make things cars, the machine can make it for us...on the East Coast they have slaves and they believe in slavery and made in China, but on the West Coast, the new West Coast, we don't believe in that. We believe in the union and that's what we are.

Not knowing where to begin, I'm going to start with the whole slavery thing. It's hard to know whether she is talking about Antebellum America (is the union she refers to the Union?) and actually thinks we have slaves in New York City or does she mean unions that protect workers and thinks we believe in slavery because of outsourcing? Either way, she's crazypants, but I still hope she means the latter. Also, what is the "new West Coast"?

She goes on to state her support for the Bush administration (not surprising) and talk about vegetable trees, which she may see after the hefty doses of pro-psychotics she must be on.

I think it's a joke.

If this was indeed during "the bush era" and she established that she was a bush supporter (as the author claims), then this is more than likely satire.

Like someone today getting in front of a council meeting, voicing support for Palin, and then ranting incoherently in a similar fashion. (Incidentally, if I heard Palin give this exact speech it wouldn't be shocking...)

LOL, she sounds like Sarah Palin! Oh my!

Someone should add this clip to a music software program--preferably Magix Studios--and change the pitch/tone to Palinize her voice. Then Huffpost could repost it as a Palin ramble. "East coast has slavery." Wow! SMH

They let her talk because they knew what she was referring to.

MrBadexample;

Your grandiosity does not allow you to develop the skills required to comprehend her perspective which is presented in fragments. Many a clever solution, observation or invention has been contributed by those to which a higher education has not been possible to obtain. It is of benefit to those with higher learning to humble themselves and not immediately dismiss someones ramblings without looking closer. By not pre judging when you are faced with an out of the ordinary presentation, it will allow your mind to be more open to hear the words being shared. The result of which will usually reveal a valid perspective that is being shared after all.

I had no problem at all understanding her views because i do not limit myself to associate with birds of only one feather or limit learning to scholarly works. There are many views and concerns that will never make it pass a street corner simply because it is not the concern of the majority.

What you are saying is that freedom of speech and problem solving is a right offered only to those with a higher education? That leaves the concerns or sentiments of the uneducated unacounted for. THis sort of logic gives priority only to the issues and concerns of the privilaged. Where does that leave the rest of the population with priorities that differ from yours?

(pardon my typos)

I cannot express how wrong this response is.
Is problem solving a right offered only to those with a higher education? YES. There are many things that a person should not be penalized or discounted for being. Race, religion, gender, sexuality; any of these groupings into which we place human beings should not and cannot be used in a prejudicial way to discount or discredit the opinions of a person. What CAN we use to judge a person's opinions? Intelligence. It is not the responsibility of anyone to give credence or weight to the statements or opinions of ignorant people. I am sick and tired of this country coddling and apologizing for people of lesser intellect under the banner of "equality" and "rights". Would you let a person who got straight D's throughout medical school perform an operation, just so that he doesn't "feel bad"?
01:14 PM on 07/29/2009
More to the point, you equate educated people to privileged people in a gross and spurious assumption that only privileged people are educated. Education comes in many forms, and while there are plenty of people who don't get the benefit of higher education from schools which they cannot afford, it is ridiculous to believe that said person cannot become educated by other means. Intelligent people, people who are capable of learning and bettering themselves, will seek out knowledge wherever they can find it. It costs nothing to go to a library. Will that person get a fancy degree? No, but they'll still become an intelligent, educated person. The so-called "uneducated" people of which you speak are either incapable of learning or lack the drive to better themselves. That being the case, why on earth should we support and condone people who lack the will or the ability to make something of themselves? Why SHOULDN'T we criticize such behavior?

News flash, we're in a capitalist society, so not everyone gets to win. The people who can't bother to learn how to express their opinions in a clear and well-thought fashion at an official council meeting; they lose. Welcome to the real world.

this is precisely why this capitalist society voted for something different.

no matter what it may be, people have understood it is not just about "drive".

Taking 2 buses to work, and getting home after 7 PM leaves little time to cook, clean, care for kids and let alone read up on current political data to be able to know all the facts. People are trying to simply survive, but their voice is still valid for the concers they face.

You should watch Grand Tornino, and the 8 th Mile to see how easy it is to fall through the cracks simply from living in the wrong neighborhood or not having some sensible models to influence you. Those characters are actually the lucky ones. Not everyone has this benefit.
I am sure there are better movies to make my point but i am not a frequent movie watcher to know of any others to make my point.

Pardon my typos as i am a busy Mom with priorities other than doing perfect research to back my concerns as i am instead busy taking care of my aging parents and living frugally so as to not need a bail out.

Vegetable Trees??? Really Guys!!!
04:07 AM on 08/01/2009
"vegetables that grow on trees".....refers to VERY clever micro farming practices where by training the vegetables to grow up trees either along the trunk, vines or trellises reduces the amount of land and water that is required to produce the same if not more produce than growing vegetables along the ground.

,,,not so stupid girl,,, she just has a vast amount of info that she is drawing together to make her point.
11:16 AM on 08/01/2009
Except that she DIDN'T make her point.

I can see the small glimmers of information that she has gathered poking through the veil of her incompetence of speech. However, if she is smart enough to have gathered the information. She should be smart enough to plan her speech and actually come through with a speech that would have made a point and came to a conclusion.

Poor thing, she still has a lot of growing up to do. She is like a child who wants to be all grown up and is trying so hard and failing miserably. She is just out of her realm for now, hopefully not forever though.

I am being optimistic. :)
