CHICAGO (AP) -- Green Party candidate Matt Reichel has announced plans to once again run for the congressional seat vacated by Rahm Emanuel.

Former Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley, a Democrat like Emanuel, went on to win the seat in an April special election. He garnered about 69 percent of the vote.

Reichel, the Green Party candidate in April, won nearly 7 percent of the vote.

Emanuel left to become President Barack Obama's chief of staff.

The high-profile 5th Congressional District is a Democratic stronghold stretching from Chicago's wealthy North Side lakefront to ethnic neighborhoods on the northwest side and neighboring Cook County suburbs.

It's the same congressional seat once held by impeached Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Quigley is one of the good ones. What is the point of challenging him?
Move to some other district and challenge one of the sleazebags.

You don't know what you're talking about. Quigley got a $7,500 campaign contribution from James Houlihan, as well as regular contributions in years past:

And then spent the majority of his career as Commissioner blaming "TIF districts" while cozying up to Houlihan, Berrios, Stroger, and everyone else that may have raised your taxes illegally.

From your comment, I can tell that you must not own property in Cook County. Or if you do, you're not paying attention to your tax bills.
