Sarah Palin, Radio Star? Ex-Governor May Be Seeking Radio Deal

Update: Broadcasting & Cable's Paige Albiniak casts doubt on Sarah Palin's radio prospects, and says that her sources claim Clear Channel has already turned Palin down out of fears that she can't sustain a regular three-hour radio show:

While you might assume Palin would be a better fit for conservative radio than the less partisan world of syndicated broadcast TV, my sources say the country's biggest radio conglomerate, Clear Channel, has already passed on her.

The main objection to Palin as radio talk-show host is that she would have to hold forth for three hours a day.

Original Post: Sarah Palin may be prepping for a career as a radio star.

Radio journal Inside Radio reports that, according to sources, Palin's reps "have been quietly testing the waters to see how much interest radio syndicators have for her."

Palin's memoir is due out next spring, and it has been speculated that she stepped down as Governor of Alaska in order to cash in on her fame.

The one-time journalism major has a broadcasting past: she was a sportscaster at Anchorage's NBC affiliate, KTTU, in the 1980s.

Palin really showed the reps at Clear Channel she isn't much of a so called journalist and that she doesn't seem to keep up with the news.

The stupidity to ask one's competitor to give her a platform to possibly raise her national profile is mind boggling.

Bain Capital and Thomas H. Lee began negotiations to buy Clear Channel Communications at the end of 2007 and completed the deal by mid-2008.

Mitt Romney's owns the private equity company Bain Capital--every news organization in the country reported on this deal because of the implications of Romney's media ownership (a company that operates 1200 radio stations and countless venues for live shows both domestically and internationally) and his presidential ambitions.

Clear Channel's rejection of Palin was not just a business decision--yes, doubtful Palin can keep an intelligent conversation going for 30 minutes, let alone 3 hours--but the real issue is Romney keeping the competition at a disadvantage by controlling the news outlets.

The problem with the deal was again Palins highly paid lawyer did not get the memo thatRoomney is one half own of Clear Channel last year it was purchased by Bain. Capital! Clear Channel probably backed Palin during the election agreeing that she is better qualified to be president than Obama or Biden...but when it comes to a financial decision and possible ..meltdown...their money is not on Palin!
They know she's a one trick pony...with a bad attitude!
