United Front: First Couple Color Coordinates For Ambassadors Reception Monday Night (PHOTOS)

The first couple showed a united front, both philosophically and sartorially, at a reception for ambassadors in the Grand Foyer of The White House Monday night. Read more about the event below.

Mrs. Obama wore a sheath with a white skirt, black bodice, and red ribbon belt. Her hair was worn down and elegantly slicked back.

The president looked perfectly in sync with his wife, wearing a black suit, white shirt, and red tie. If only all matters of diplomacy could be so smooth.

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama says diplomacy is more important now than ever before.

Obama on Monday told ambassadors to the United States that his administration is committed to working with countries to advance common goals. He told the diplomats visiting the White House that he looks forward to working with them to advance peace and prosperity.

Obama says diplomats previously discussed war and peace, but they now discuss everything from education, environment and even athletics. He says the United States cannot solve its problems unless the solutions involve cooperation among nations.

The president says the United States will engage with the diplomats' countries with respect and cooperation.

Why is it if anyone says something critical of Mrs. O's clothing, it's automatically interpreted as a racial slur? Isn't it possible to simply have a different point of view or different taste in fashion without being racist? After all, it is possible to like or dislike an outfit regardless of the wearer's skin color. There are other articles about the first lady & photographs, which have generated comments reflecting the same mind set. The person registering a critical observation is immediately labeled as a "sore loser" and/or someone who hates blacks. This is a pitiful reflection of our society.

Oh, and although I don't think Michelle necessarily dresses her body type as well as I think she could sometimes, I think Hillary looks awful in most of her fashion choices. Does that mean I am mean to white people, even though I am one? LOL
But politically I love them both--they support women's right and any woman that does, is one I admire for better reasons other than fashion!

Michelle and Barak are awesome, role model citizens. I hope they set an example as to what a marriage should be and hopefully less people get divorced and less children left with one or no parents. Happy times :)

LoveGuv you talk about white women and store bought 38s...then says others shouldn't make comments about Michelle Obama somehow linking the issue to race.

This is about fashion. White women have curvy figures, too...look at Kim Kardashian. She wears pencil skirts and shift dresses but can get away with it better because she has an hourglass shape and her breasts are proportionate with her butt. Michelle is a pair shape. She wears, sometimes, things that are not so flattering in the same style skirt as Kim, because she does not have the breasts to balance it. It is not about race. It is about body type. Although there are more black women with a pear shape, there are MANY white women with one, too like Kelly Clarkson (she has a booty, but hides it) and Coco (w/IceT), although she's trashy does, too.

Stop making things about race when they are not. How would you like it if a white person said the reverse of what you did "we white women are as proud of our skinny frames as black women are of their cellulite butts." Making a derogatory comment about butts is the same as assuming all white women have "store bought 38s." That does not sound very nice, now does it? I would never actually say that to anyone... just proving how ridiculous you sound. I get real angry that people feel entitled to be insulting and then complain others do that, too.

Oh, and just to give you an example of black women with hourglass shapes who can get away with wearing some styles Michelle can't, so no one thinks I am only referring to white women. Vivica A Fox has a full butt and breast size, and so does Tyra...Michelle has a small chest and large butt.

Again, it's not race, it's SHAPE.
