Jon Stewart Defends New Jersey: Just Rip My Balls Off Why Don't You! (VIDEO)

Being a New Jersey apologist is a thankless task that gets harder with each scandal, but if anyone is up for the job it's native Lawrencevillian Jon Stewart. The "Daily Show" host took on the state's detractors last night in the wake of a huge corruption scandal that involves Rabbis, politicians, black-market organs, and Gucci knock-offs. Stewart was shocked and outraged by the mainstream media's Jersey jabs, and launched a segment in response called "Hey, C'Mon That's Not...Why Would You...Whoa!"

We are small is area, 8th in population but #1 in corruption. We're #1! The only issue as to New Jersey is that they just got caught. All places in the USA and the world for that matter have various forms or corruption of the politicans and government officials by business and property interests. That will never be broken.

Jon Stewart's dad is a professor at my alma mater, The College of New Jersey... obviously, he uses Jon's original last name, Leibowitz.

Jersey gets a bad rap, but it's mainly North Jersey that conjures up all the stereotypes people think of when they think of the state as a whole. I'm from the Jersey shore, and that is a lovely area. Mercer County is great too.

Nope. His parents are divorced, but at least at the time I graduated a few years ago, his dad was alive and well and teaching physics at TCNJ.

What happened to the clip about the interview with Bill Kristol where he admitted that vets have the best health care under a govt run system? That was on for a day and all of a sudden, that story got pulled. That is perhaps the mostly revealing admission from a right wing conservative in years.

Does HuffPo knuckle under to censorship pressure?

JS did a masterful job of backing Bill Kristol into a corner where BK had to admit that our military and veterans get the best possible medical care from a single payer system (the VA). I personally enjoyed seeing Kristol hoist on his own petard.

Stewart was hilarious but he's from Lawrenceville??? Geez, that's practically Princetonian imo. That's not really New Jersey. Heck, he was near the Gov mansion (Drumthwacket). I expected a more gritty background than that. Even Hillsborough is more gritty -- and I'm not even talking Asbury Park or Jersey City.
