There should be three distinct categories of college "greenness": (1) ecological greenery, (2) most green cash rquired to attend and, (3) largest green endowment.

Re: College of the Atlantic

As a science teacher, I STRONGLY urge students interested in environmental themes to check out the College of the Atlantic, small but stunningly beautiful campus located on along the shore of Bar Harbor Maine.

The campus is located next to Acadia National Park, and it's first rate faculty work with students to develop their own interdisciplinary studies related to ecology, biology, botany, environmental science, oceanography, marine biology, environmental science, sustainability and other subjects related to Human Ecology.

The Washington Post recently suggested that if Plato himself were to come back to teach, he'd probably take up residence at College of the Atlantic.

I don't know all of the efforts at the following campus but I do know that the University of Minnesota - Morris campus gets ~60% of it's energy from a wind turbine. Very cool. :-)

Learn more about the University of New Hampshire's leadership on the renewable energy front with its landfill gas-to-energy project! This university has done more than buy carbon offsets; its faculty, administration, staff, and students have taken the initiative to make a tangible change to its infrastructure. Go UNH!

So why don't each of the schools(in fact every school & business) adopt each others "green" policies because if it can be done at one school it should be able to be done at all the others...and the money to implement the changes would come from all the savings they're accumulating from saving on energy costs, purchasing savings, reduction in wasteful spending etc.
