In our household, I'm the one who's always too hot (and I am female as well). My wonderful and patient spouse is the one who throws on the sweats and sweaters, bless him! There are those times, as during a heat wave we have the temperature set at that unhappy medium: still too hot for me and still too cold for him. He's bundled up and I'm down to my skivies!
Well I must be an anomaly...I like it very cold. My friend constantly says I live in an IGLOO!! I keep my temp at 70 :-) oh and I am a woman!!
I love women. Women are the best thing about being a man. However, on this issue I have to part from them. On this issue they really piss me off.
They're always cold. They insist they are the true thermometers, the only ones who are legitimately qualified to decide what the A/C setting should be.
Compromise? HAH! In this realm, they simply have no comprehension of the word. Their idea of compromise is to set the thermostat at sweat lodge temperatures and still bundle themselves in winter gear year round. What happens when we compromise out of respect for their poor frail hypothermia ridden bodies--you know like dressing down to shorts and a tank top (God forbid we go shirtless or barefoot)? 'I hate it when you wear 'wife-beater shirts,' or, 'you look like a slob.'
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT HAVING THE TEMERITY TO SUGGEST A MIDDLE GROUND ON THE THERMOSTAT!
It's impossible to occupy the same bed with them in the wintertime. They insist on flannel everything--from sheets and pillowcases to pajamas, with the requisite 90 lbs. mininum in blankets, throws, comforters, quilts, and mountains of pillows. You become a villain again because you pass out from suffocation and heat stroke, and beg to be allowed to remove yourself from the 1 ton requirement of bed things apparently necessary to keep your partner warm.
But, I still love women.
My husband and I got home from vacation to find that our air conditioner had quit working. It was a Friday night and the house had been closed up for days. Opening the door was like opening the door to a blast furnace. The next day, Saturday, we called the company that had fixed it last year. They don't come out on weekends, but they'll come out first thing on Monday morning. Temperatures of 85 degrees and humidity of 80 to 90 percent is not pleasant.
My profile on a dating site would read: I am looking for a woman who is always hot (and that just means she loves the A/C turned up full blast)
wow, try compensating for size and I believe you will find male/female has nothing to do with it.

AC itself pushes me to the brink! I traveled to a remote place with no AC and ALL and my sinus problems immediately cleared up IMMEDIATELY. same with others I know... It's VERY hot back home but am getting some screens to keep windows open (and bugs out) and fans on so I can relieve myself from the constant (unhealthy in this case all the time) AC

If the "greenies" don't make an impact, trust me, you'll be needing that AC unit a lot more.
what you said makes absolutely no sense
if you guys werent so anti-anything helpful to anyone but yourself, maybe you could see that if their policies worked and reduced heat increases, you wouldnt need to worry about your a/c

That's what they want, total control over our lives.
