Kenyan Birth Certificate: Obama Birthers Latch On To Forgery

UPDATE: An anonymous blogger has taken credit for the "Kenyan birth certificate," posting photos of the fake document with the caption:

Fine cotton business paper: $11

Inkjet printer: $35

1940 Royal Model KMM manual typewriter: $10

2 Shilling coin: $1

Pilot Varsity fountain pen: $3

Punkin' the Birthers: Priceless

The forgery appears to be based on an Australian birth certificate available online.

The latest development in the Obama "birther" conspiracy is the emergence of a "Kenyan birth certificate" for the president, put online by movement maven Orly Taitz.

Oddly, the same people who are so skeptical of Obama's Hawaii birth certificate are willing to accept this new document despite many flaws, documented by the Washington Independent's Dave Weigel and Markos Moulitsas.

Here are just some of the flaws:

Kenya was a Dominion the date this certificate was allegedly issued and would not become a republic for 8 months.

Mombasa belonged to Zanzibar when Obama was born, not Kenya.

Obama's father's village would be nearer to Nairobi, not Mombasa.

The number 47O44-- 47 is Obama's age when he became president, followed by the letter O (not a zero) followed by 44--he is the 44th president.

EF Lavender is a laundry detergent.

In spite of the document's many problems, Taitz has submitted it to a court as part of her case against the president.

"I'm forcing the issue, where Obama will have to respond," she told World Net Daily.

"Before, they said, 'You don't have anything backing your claims,'" Taitz explained. "Now I have something. In fact, I have posted on the Internet more than Obama has. My birth certificate actually has signatures."

Karl Rove responded to the circulation of the new paper on Twitter, saying "I believe this is likely a forgery."

There's no way this couldn't be real. After all, everything is real, isn't it? You can hold this thing in your hands, wiffle it through the air and make paper-crinkling sounds with it, use it like a fan to cool someone off, line your cat's litterbox with it, fold it into a paper airplane...and we all know that airplanes are real, don't we? If I accuse you of a crime, you don't have to prove your innocence. Evidence must show that you are guilty. The birthers have zero evidence, they have an obvious forgery as the republic of kenya can't issue a republic of kenya birth certificate before it was a republic.
The certificate is marked as having come from the Republic of Kenya in February of 1964, it wasn't a republic until 10 months later. Can the birthers explain that no, the dismiss the obvious problems.

Before the birthers latched onto this forgery they latched onto a doctored interview with Obama's grandmother. She tells the translators she was present at her grandsons birth in hawaii. They cut of the interview before she says in Hawaii leaving open the Kenya interpretation

Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the director of the Hawaii Department of Health, has repeatedly verified that the state has Obama's birth certificate on file and that he was in fact born there. Two Hawaiian news papers have come forward and shown they have the birth announcements of Obama to his parents confirming he was born in Hawaii.

I think I'll trust the side with actually evidence and not the one that keeps making stuff up. The way I see it most of the birthers support comes from white supremistest

Something we all can agree on, (Left or Right) Obama's entire life is clouded in mystery. You have to at least give it some validity; it looks older, more consistent to the mid 60's than the newer up to date Hawaii birth certificate. Give it some thought!

The reason the "newer, up to date Hawaii birth certificate" doesn't look consistent with the mid 60s, is that the Hawaii birth certificate was printed in 2007, using the template for birth certificate printouts current at that time (and still currently), when Obama's election campaign requested a copy from Hawaii. Hawaiian officials at the time, and ever since, have maintained that the information printed on it is the same information printed on Obama's original, "long form" birth certificate. I'd believe them sooner than I'd believe anything said by any birther, or Republican for that matter.

Nor can we all agree that Obama's "entire life clouded in mystery"--read the books he wrote, the articles published about him, etc. You make him sound like some 40's mystery radio character--"The Shadow knows! Heh heh heh..."

FactCheck has now admitted Obama was born with DUAL citizenship and therefore not a Natural Born Citizen which now DISQUALIFIES him from holding the office of president. *FactCheck.org has failed to respond to the dual citizenship question that they themselves have raised.

Because that is the law in Kenya. He may have 'inherited' Kenyan citizenshipvia his father, but relinquished it at 21 because he failed to renounce his American citizenship as Kenyan law requres adults with dual citizenship to do.

Oddly, the same people who are so skeptical of the alleged Kenyan birth certificate are willing to accept the word of an anonymous blogger that it is a forgery. None of this is verifiable evidence of anything except that people are predisposed to believe what they want to believe.

President Obama has produced the original copy of his birth certificate for all to see. Anyone who is reasonably informed would know this for a fact. If he wasn't a natural born citizen, he could never have become President in the first place because Congress and the Electoral College would never have certified the election. Besides the United States Supreme Court would have overturned his victory if it was found that he is not a natural born citizen as prescribed by the Constitution.

Republicans are using this conspiracy against our President because they have nothing else to use against him. They are trying to get revenge for the crushing defeat he handed them at the polls last November. It is sad that in a difficult time like this, when we are going through one of the deepest Recessions in our history, Republicans are working to undermine the country instead of helping to rebuild it. If they continue down this road, they'll be in the minority for a very long time to come.

Why should he? You didn't vote for him, and you never will vote for him. He's not going to come to your house and show you, so the only place that you will be able to see it is if he posts it online, and why would he do that when all the right wing lunatics will do is download it, alter it with photoshop, and claim its a fake like they did with the Certification of Live Birth he put on the internet. Moreover, no matter what he did, YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE IT ANYWAY. So why should he show you nutjobs anything when he really has nothing to gain from doing so?

He CANNOT release his vaulted BC, the state won't let those leave the vaults!!! He HAS released the CERTIFIED VALID COPY of his vaulted BC, which is acceptable to use for ANYTHING, including his Passport, photo ID, and even be used to verify citizenship when creating a SECURITY CLEARANCE, as I would know due to having the same information on my BC, and I got ALL of those with mine!

Unlike President Obama who was born in Hawaii, John McCain was not born in any of the United States. He was born in Panama. How come he was never required to show his birth certificate? Is it because he is white?
