Chinese Trust Prostitutes More Than Politicians, Scientists

In a survey published by Insight China Magazine that queried 3,376 Chinese citizens, more respondents trust prostitutes and sex-workers than politicians or scientists, the BBC reports.

The survey found that 7.9% of respondents considered sex workers to be trustworthy, placing them third behind farmers and religious workers.

Politicians were far down the list, closer to scientists and teachers.

According to an editorial published alongside the survey, prostitutes' popularity over politicians and scientists is indeed surprising; but this latter group is by no means in the least popular category either, which according to the BBC includes real estate developers, secretaries, agents, entertainers and directors.

According to AFP, the next in line behind prostitutes in the survey are soldiers and students.

Actually it makes sense, with a prostitute at least when you get screwed it's enjoyable as opposed to when a politician does it to you.

From my limited experience with prostitutes all over the world, they are more honest than any occupation or profession.

I would say its the same if not worse in the US. I dont think anyone can name one politican that is trustworthy. I would love to know at least 1.

Seems perfectly accurate to me. Both prostitutes and politicians will promise to do just about anything for you. The difference is that after they take your money the prostitutes actually do the thing that they promised.

Yes, we do know the Chinese are smart. Just think, they turn out more Engineers, Chemist, Doctors and other very intelligent and highly skilled people every year than the whole US turns out in 5 years. And guess what, they can afford these higher educations for about 1/10 of what we get raped for at US universities that produce at the most equivalent education levels.
The US is more worried about how much they can make off of everyone, than how much they can improve the education and health of the people so they people can improve the overall health and economy of the nation.
US= everyone for themselves, as long as it makes a couple very very wealthy.

If its a matter of paying for sex or paying to get screwed over. Value for dollar, paying a prostitute is more admirable, at least you know the money is going towards necessities, not some rich person's yacht or holiday home in the Carribean.
