Here we go with the misleading headlines...but what realy sad is that it works...people read the head lines and go from there. deciding not to furthur inform themselves to actualy get the facts from the article. Spewing anger at the President for no reason. President Obama's job is to uphold the lawsof this natin irregardless of weather or not he agrees with them. those in the senate and the house are the ones who make and change laws. So if you want something to change then you need to press upon that fact to your senators and members of congress. And with that said going back to the actual article, my understanding is that Napalitano has actually withdrawn from mass round-ups and are looking at ways to prosecute the people who hire and exploit immegrants. Which is one of the things the President said that he was going to do during the campaign. I'm so sick and tired of the "are we there yet" brigade. It's coming folks calm down in the mean time make sure your senators and congress men knows what you want.

Immigration shouldn't be tough if you hire ILLEGALS you should be HEAVILY fined and/or serve jail time. If you are here ILLEGALLY you should be deported. It is actually very simple. We spend BILLIONS of tax dollars on ILLEGALS who don't belong here. We need to use that money on our own.

Republicans are hypocrits! They keep open borders for illegal workers to come here and Bush signed a streamline bill to allow them to return with no paperwork with open arms to return. They want that cheap labor as the Chamber of Commerce also lobbies as do most Blue dogs keep the cheap labor going in their districts. Yet they claim they want reform.

They cant have it both ways. Liberals bleeding hearts do not want to disrupt families of illegals.
They say its unamerican!

How unamerican is it when WE the citizens have no jobs and many jobs are given to illegals for cheap labor? How unamerican is it that illegals come here to drop a kid and then stay and abuse our social programs. How unamerican is it to refuse to learn our ways and language and demand theirs be taught in schools and priorities given to them.

We need a national policy that refects taking care of its citizens first! We pay the taxes and support the government. Illegals send most home!

". . . . . . . Republicans who oppose any legalization of the status of illegal immigrants say they remain unimpressed by the new enforcement measures. . . . . . "

That sentence alone indicates the President is working to keep families who are here illegally and have children that were born here TOGETHER as a family HERE.

President Obama is a strategist; he will keep his campaign promise regarding this and many more issues.

EXACTLY!!! Also, written:

"Under Ms. Napolitano, immigration authorities have backed away from the Bush administration’s frequent mass factory roundups of illegal immigrant workers."

So what does everyone want? If you are here illegally you must go through the same process as everyone else. There are people here who actually "applied" for citizenship. I say this is a step in the right direction. Give the President time. Besides, is he not making history for Hispanics by nominating Sotomayor? I know he could have found someone just a qualified (if not more) than her.

I did read it....and Bush was a mush mouth on immigration. My point was to put someone in place that will actually follow the laws on immigration. Arpio is the man to do it. Screw special interest groups and screw and constituents that feel you should over look the rules so people can flow unchecked across the border.

With half of the Republican Senators flauting their anti-Hispanic racism (by opposing Sotomayor for purely racial reasons), Obama doesn't feel any compelling pressure from Latinos. Where can they go if not to the Democrats?

Require DNA tests for everyone in the United States and send them all back to the land of their ancestors.

The only ones left would be those with Indian blood, including many of those from Latin America you call 'illegals'.

The only ones who need to be sent back are those that are here ILLEGALLY!

President Obama is correct on this and he is addressing this problem with humanity. If people actually read the article they would see that. The president actually going after the employers who are using these illegals for slave labor. Some of the same owners of these businesses are the same people fighting everything President Obama is doing. The peaches, grapes etc that we enjoy is picked by mostly by the Hispanic population. The groves and fields are owned by corporations like Delmonte, etc. Some of these companies are conservatives and your anti-health care reform people and they are hypocrites too. It will be the same corporations fighting against the President on immigration reform.

Before President Obama begins to tackle immigration reform he has to address the illegal immigrate problem. The Latino leadership in this country know it's a problem and they need to work with the President.

The need to erase the blemish of illegal immigration prompted Congress to enact the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986. The IRCA toughened criminal sanctions for employers who hired illegal aliens, denied illegal aliens federally funded welfare benefits, and legitimized some aliens through an amnesty program–EXCEPT THESE LAWS NEVER WERE ENFORCED? Neither the federal government, nor state county have denied most benefits to illegal immigrants. That is why one state–California–is involved in a monstrous budget deficit? California--THE SANCTUARY STATE-- has been overrun with millions of illegal entrants, as with Arizona and other border states. An the ingredients of federal law has been a breeding ground for entitlements that have been gravely compromised by pandering to minority caucuses REMEMBER THERE ARE MANY SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS, WHO WANT ABSOLUTELY NO RESTRICTIONS ON HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE ALLOWED INTO THE US?.

I thought it was GWB who proposed legislation that would give illegals a path to citizenship and was shot down in senate and congress

It would be untrue to accuse just the Democrats for this, because all politicians have been involved in distracting–THE PEOPLE–from the real issues that cost them billions of dollars. The population falls for these distractions every time, so they can hit you with either higher taxes or give huge tax reimbursements to their corporate comrades. Illegal immigration is a major depletion of every tax treasury, throughout this land. Giving any kind of AMNESTY will enhance the predictable–OVERPOPULATION. The complete neglect of our interstate highway system, tunnels and bridges is just the slow eroding of our infrastructure. In the near future the population growth will explode, to over another hundred million people. IT would be an unmentionable catastrophe to open the doors wide at the border, giving millions of illegal immigrant’s expressway to a path to citizenship. Already our Senate has voted to give illegal immigrants and families a right to access the new health care provisions--WHICH THE TAXPAYER WILL PAY FOR?
THEREFORE THIS IS A FREE WELFARE FOR ALL PARIAH BUSINESSES THAT STILL HIRE ILLEGAL LABORERS

You must decide the future of future generations, because just my ranting will have very little influence on the power brokers in Washington. Call your Senator or Congressman at 202-224-3121 and impress on the people you vote into office that you want an alternative to the predatory health care insurers. You want the right to choose? That includes the Universal government run system that certainly isn’t any worse than the profiteering insurers. That you also want your political representative to sever any path to citizenship, but to enforce a firm, permanent--ALL ENCOMPASSING-- E-Verify, police 287(g) enforcement and not to rescind the no-match letter or weaken ICE raids. Tell them you are a voter and convey to them, as you voted them into office as you can remove them, just as easy? Read the naked true facts by GOOGLING--NUMBERSUSA
