Colbert Tells Us Which Movies Are Destroying America (VIDEO)

First Posted: 09/07/09 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 02:45 PM ET

It's pretty clear that Hollywood hates America. If they didn't, why would they blow it up in all their films? Well, someone has finally said it. Stephen Colbert devoted an entire segment to summer films that are destroying our country last night. He berated "G.I. Joe" for protecting the French and "Orphan" for not being mean enough about orphans.

GI Joe was awful. Good thing I didn't pay to see it.

Unless you have a alpenhorn-sized joint, don't bother.

Further stupidity with 2012: the USS Kennedy was mothballed in Philadelphia at least a year ago. So unless something happened with the USS Gerald Ford in between then and now, someone needs to go back and redo the movie.

Watching "Julie and Julia" was moving on many levels. We loved it.

They were so great together. Meryl Streep is beautiful and Stephen is so terrific.

Steven is a genius!

I wonder what percentage of people know Julia Child from the Dan Akroyd skit rather than the cooking show?

Colbert is losing his funny! He needs to go back to making fun of Fox news idiots, and Republican clowns!

"What are Mike & Ike doing in the same box together?".....classic. This was a pretty good show all around from Colbert last night. It's not shown here, but Colbert also talked about the fact that an R&B singer was chosen as a spokesperson for Chicago schools. The problem is this singer, Jeremih, has a song called "Birthday Sex". Some of the comments from Colbert were hillarious.

Here is the video if interested:

Julia Childs always kind of reminded me of the women in my family. Not the drinking but the, scr.e.w it I'm just going to do my own thing and I don't care what you think. I actually want to see the movie, which is odd it isn't the kind of film i am typicaly interested in.

I just finished watching Julie and Julia online- it was terrible.
01:50 PM on 08/07/2009
What was terrible, the fact that you watched a pirated movie online before it even comes out in the theaters?
Well, I agree.

Grinning ear to ear. And such a relief to come here after being on the nasty Tampa Town Hall/Health Care thread.
