Whether Will and Jada are scientologists or not is their own business.

What's with all the religious intolerance or is it trying to find a reason to pass on the Tom Cruise resentment/hate to his close associates.

Someone tell me about the criminal activites of this group, specifically with children that would make them incapacity of working around children.

The problem is that WIll and Jada are reaching the maga success of their friend Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

Beautiful family. I'm sure the same haters that hate the Obamas have something negative to say about the Smiths. Jealousy is not a christian value either.

I agree with you. They are a nice looking family. Those who are hatin' have issues THEY need to deal with and leave the Smith's issues to themselves.

Jada's show must be really tanking. Too much of Mr & Mrs Smith in the media these days. They need to give it a rest.

There's a lot of talk here about Scientology converting gays. Do Scientologists recruit gays? That's new, a religion recruiting gays.

Everyone knows that gays recruit themselves. They have to perpetuate. Since they usually don't breed, they have to recruit. There is one big happy recruitment drive going on right now that tries to apply reparative approaches to convert heterosexuals.

There's a reason they have ties to Scientology. It's because they are Scientologists. It's funny how that works.

It's not religion. It's a money-making scam. Do a little research, and you'll see right through it.

Could the same be said about other religions? potentially. But there's a world of difference between them. A bit of education about Scientology's history and practices will convince you.

Jesus rose from the dead, so that means he is not a zombie. It's his body and blood that are consumed in the Catholic mass. I'm a non-believer, by the way.

How many did you meet? Do you generalize a bit?

For some data on Study Tech, here are a few facts: Developed by L. Ron Hubbard, it contains the rock-bottom common sense basics of how to learn any subject. Ever had trouble in school? Ever thought you weren't "getting it" in reading something? Study Tech contains answers.

Let's take just one datum: Ever felt exasperated, bored or sort of dead while studying? As a teacher, have you noticed how students' excitement to learn seems to dwindle year by year as they move up? One answer concerns mass and significance in any subject. By "mass" we mean the actual physical objects, the things of life. The significance of a subject is the meaning or ideas or theory of it.

Education attempted in the absence of the mass in which a technology will be involved is hard on a student. For example, in studying tractors, the mass would be a tractor. Studying significances with an absence of mass can actually make a student feel squashed. He can feel bent, sort of dizzy, sort of dead, bored and exasperated. Curing this is simple once spotted. Give the poor kid a tractor! Sometimes that's not practical, so Study Tech contains many solutions along this line.

There are other barriers, each with their own symptoms and handlings, all with the result of raising student competence. That makes wins for everyone. Scientology is purely solutions which work. Only someone who didn't understand it would rail against it. Hopefully this helps put some data out there.

Wow! So much jargon about giving the kid a tractor! First, kids don't study tractors, at least until they go to engineering or agriculture college.

Another illustration of the manifestations of these dangerous cults. They entice you with simple solutions to life's problems, peppering them with some jargon that mislead the prospective "client" to think this has some value. Then they get in, and enter a co-depedency situation that is very costly and of which it is very hard to get out.

Stay away.
If your kid has difficulties learning, there are working alternatives out there that will not get you mired in a cult..

Why is it important to give them such massive amounts of your money in order to learn these solutions? Not a problem for Tom or John or Will, but for most of us, it would be a major hardship. It is all about the money with Scientology.

This bit of "education" betrays the basic and fundamentally fatal flaw in Scientology's manifesto. Proposed as a "science of the spirit:", of "knowing how to know", it is in fact a grossly materialistic cult based on what the CoS calls "havingness", and all problems stem from lack of this "havingness". So the solution to all man's ill's is just to "have" more. L Ron certainly lived that law...unto himself. And this is supposed to be the "new Buddhism" and L Ron the new avatar, according to insider Scientologists. Buddha taught to surrender through non-attachment to the phenomenal unreal world. Scientology hooks your grasping ego into a "havingness" game big time...attaches you spiritually to something "you WANT to HAVE". For all it's tough love exterior, it's all an ego stroke of major proportions for those in need (the insecure and needy).

The Buddha taught non-attachment - that's VERY different from asceticism. You should have everything - but be able to take it or leave it.

Please. Back in the 80s when i was in college, I was in downtown Boston and had an hour to kill before an appointment. This guy came up to me on the street and asked if I wanted to take a personality test. It was cold out so I said "sure, why not." He took me inside this place, gave me the test and while they were grading it put me in a room to watch a movie. I started looking for windows to jump out of, smart enough to see this had cult written all over it. Afterward, they explained to me from my test that I had all these failings as a person and needed direction. They were scientologists.

As an educator, I've reviewed the 'study tech' approach. It's mired in oversimplification and basic silliness.

So you can't bring a tractor into the classroom? Don't worry, the study tech uses handy little kits with bits of string and spools and what-not - to let the kid re-create the 'mass' of the tractor, so they can get it.

Study tech is everything wrong that education is leaving behind - it is not research-based, it is not peer-reviewed, it is not based on data (unless you count the CoS buzzword version you seem to like), and it is above all NOT GOING TO HELP. Real educators, with real advanced degrees, will.

Your phrasing outs you as a Scientologist. You probably fear me to no end - I'm a school psychologist. I'm working with the children, not you. It's research and science, not your mumbo-jumbo, that is helping kids every day. Your laughable L.Ron dribble will never make a difference for kids that need it. The helping professions will. Research-based interventions will.

Stay out of the schools. Stay out of public funding for mental health needs. Stay out of crisis response. Stay. Out.
