washingtonmonthly.com:

Over the last few days, a conservative activist in St. Louis named Kenneth Gladney seems to have become something of a cause celebre in far-right circles. Depending on which version of events you choose to believe, Gladney either initiated or was involved in a scuffle at a town-hall event late last week.

At least one prominent conservative blogger said Gladney was "brutally attacked" by SEIU members outside the event. After watching the video, there's ample reason for skepticism. Gladney was, in fact, pulled to the ground during the fracas, but he seemed to bounce back up quickly, and is seen walking around soon after without any obvious injuries. His attorney has argued that Gladney was beaten during the fight, but there's nothing in the clip to support that.

Why does this remind me of the young lady that had a "B" (backwards of course) put on her face by some unknown Obama loyalist?

What gets me is the Republicans gave Iraq in total around $950 million so they can rebuild their universal healthcare system. Iraq is 1/10 the population of the US. If we increase that by 10, we have $950 billion - which is what Obama wants over a decade.

So the Republicans have no problem using American tax money, running up our National Debt, to bring universal healthcare to Iraq, but heaven forbid Americans get healthcare.

Thaneb caught your error but did not bring the point home: It's only $9.5B - less than a tenth what we spent on the war just in the first year alone, if I remember the expenditures correctly. Even ongoing annually, it's chump change.

The republican shoutfest will fail in the end. Many people are going to grow tired of not being able to speak to their elected officials. The negative press and videos will do them in. All the republicans are doing is providing ammunition for the upcoming elections. We will make commercials with the town hall video footage and say do you want these people in charge of your future? He// No!!!!!

This reminds me of a poor fellow who worked for Ron Paul's campaign. He didn't have health insurance, died of an illness after the campaign ended and left his widow with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of medical bills. But government health care is eeeeeevil.

He chose not to have insurance.

Why'd he go to the hospital?

I'm sure these Repugs have some sort of in with Benny Hinn.

"The Lord says "RISE" out of that wheel chair. You WILL walk AGAIN."

Actually, if Gldney needs little more money I'm sure Benny will put him on as another one of his "Miracle Cures". :-)

This man has violated the Republican healthcare code. He should have just PRAYED himself better instead of going to a hospital.

"What the Freekin'...? See Kenneth."

I saw the video they took too. Didn't see one blow thrown on Gladney, and he was strolling about chatting to the camera afterwards with no visible pain or injuries. There was another black guy in a Union shirt that was limping and moving his shoulder like he hurt his rotator cuff. There was also some dude screamin' about the Union thugs at the top of his lungs, really trying to malke sure his statements got caught on camera.

So the seemingly uninjured Gladney goes to a hospital by himself...clearly no appointment....and appears at a rally the next day asking for money for his hospital expenses, because he has no insurance and is unemployed. So I would assume he went to the emergency room...which is ultimately funded by taxpayer dollars. Hmmm. So he thinks that people should beg for the healthcare they need? Or ask the taxpayers to bail him out? But he opposes increasing access to health care for others?

Since he's soliciting money, is he going to provide the evidence of his injuries? Or did he just waste the time of the emergency room doctors? Did THEY provide the wheelchair for the previously ambulatory Mr/ Gladney?Or was it provided by the local tea-baggers group? Or donated by an insurance company? What about the "helper"? RN or simply a volunteer from the "tea baggers"?

With all due respect,
the illogical nature of the average Joe's affiliation to the GOP/Fox is blossoming and bearing comedic fruit.
