Victoria's Secret Models Talk Body Shapes, Babies, And Brazilian Women (VIDEO)

Four Victoria's Secret models--Marisa Miller, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lindsay Ellingson, and Emanuela De Paula--appeared on "The Early Show" Tuesday to announce that their annual fashion show would be returning to New York (last year it was held in Miami Beach). Harry Smith, who recently got a little flirtatious during a Jennifer Aniston interview, also asked Huffington Post blogger Ambrosio about her post-baby body, flaunted his knowledge of the 'Body by Victoria' bra, and asked De Paula what makes Brazilian women beautiful.

And that was my point, that neither are Brasilians except for the fact that they happened to be born there to immigrants. Why don't they ever glamourize the ethnic Brasilian women? They are much prettier in my opinion. Blonde hair and blue eyes might be the fashion standard for western civilization, but not many Brasilians look like that. ;o)

After World War II lots of Nazis fled to South America (they predominantly live in Argentina, Uruguay, and Southern Brazil). Also, I am not sure about this, but I think that some Germans may have gone to South America after World War I (because the economy was in shambles). It is funny, though, that Brazilian models are idolized and exoticized for their "Brazilianness" because really they are ethnically no different from most people in Europe. Gisele is ethnically all German, and Alessandra (second from the left in this video) is Polish and Italian. American supermodels, European supermodels, Brazilian supermodel­s--there's really no difference. It is the same look--that of a white, tall, skinny, blondish woman.

Wrong! Most of the German migration to the Sourthern part of Brazil pre-dated the Nazi regime. In fact almost 100k of them came in the 1920 (wikepedia).
A lot of medium level Nazi officials did end-up in Argentina on account of Peron's and Strossner's sympathy with the regime. One might argue that Vargas (Brazillian dictator) had also his sympathy with the Nazi regime. But it was much more pragmatic (Brazil would get a good deal for its national steel processing plant) than ideological. When the Nazi got busted, the deal was off and SS looked for refuge in then la ciudad en sur (Buenos Aires).

Leave the bimbettes alone. They are models, not political analysts, they are not paid to be smart. I watched the interview on mute. I did find it ironic that they four women with perfect body are trying to get average women (who are mostly overweight) to love their bodies.

All of the women look alike. It's like they are Stepford cookie-cutter women. The biggest diversity is the woman with dark hair.

I noticed this trend for Stepfordism awhile back when I saw a picture of country-western singer celebrities, with the women interspersed among the men. They were all sitting down.

The women all looked the same. Exactly he same. Same hair, same smile, same lumineers, same noses, same eyebrows--­everything the same.

The one with dark hair is Afro-Brazilian. They put a ton of markup and camera lighting on her for this clip so you can't ell but if you google her she looks part African.
