Keith Olbermann: Bill O'Reilly Should Be Fired (VIDEO)

Keith Olbermann named Bill O'Reilly his Worst Person in the World Wednesday night, continuing to shatter any supposed truce between the rival cable news hosts.

Olbermann slammed O'Reilly for his unconfirmed report that MSNBC parent company GE may have been involved in selling roadside bombs.

"So you've got an unconfirmed report of an unconfirmed investigation, and you've got an unconfirmed report that GE is under suspicion in your unconfirmed report of your unconfirmed investigation," Olbermann said. "Do you have any facts at all?"

A GE spokesperson has called O'Reilly's report "maliciously false."

"You can talk all you want about feuds and cease fires and childishness," Olbermann said, "but if I or any actual reporter like me had gotten as much wrong in any story as Bill O'Reilly got wrong in this one, I'd be fired in 15 minutes — as he should be now."

Olbermann should be fired for suggesting the loss of a job for anyone. He is filled with rage, hatred and jealousy over Bill O'Reilly (who is just another commentator). Olbermann's ratings are so low, I can't imagine why the channel keeps him. I don't know anyone who watches him.

Yes, I continue to wonder how our media can be filled with so many people who can say anything they want and present it as true when it has no basis in fact or reality. How can that happen? Don't we have any standards? No wonder they can manipulate Americans so easily into believing anything they want, look at those tea baggers and the town hall agitators. No facts, no basis.
The founding fathers held journalism high because Democracy DEPENDS on an informed electorate. And ours is being intentionally dumbed down. Twice this week and for the 4th time this year FNC has beat out MSNBC, CNN, HLN and CNBC combined.
The only reason olbermann mentions Bill O'Reilly is to try and boost his ratings. Keith should forget he'll never be able to hold a candle to Bill. Keith is a loser wanna be who works for a loser wanna be cable station. Note to Keith: you are not worthy enough to even speak Bill's name.

If you watch the video, it's clear without a shadow of a doubt that O'Reilly was lying to his audience to create an enemy that doesn't exist. By pointing out that O'Reilly has better ratings, all you're doing is demonstrating that O'Reilly's audience is more likely to listen to misinformation. Again, it is unmistakable that O'Reilly was being disingenuous. And if what you're trying to illustrate is that there is a large portion of the population that has a desire to be fed lies to reinforce their ideas of a boogey man that doesn't exist, then I'm in agreement. Somewhere between 20 and 30 % of Americans fall into that category and almost all of them watch Fox News. I watch Fox News all the time but it's not for the sake of gathering information. I find the way they manipulate the lowest common denominator entertaining. Of course, I'm among the very small portion of their audience that has the ability to recognize the difference between entertainment and information.

I cannot believe how anybody can actually believe Bill O'Reilly, or any of the other newscasters on the show. Their tactics are sleazy, playing video clips out of context, misstating quotes as fact, not allowing debate, reporting incorrect information... the list goes on, and when faced with their lies, they stand by them, blaming some vast liberal conspiracy!

I am a conservative, but I cannot sit by with any level of reason and fall for this sham reporting. The sad part is that these people reach millions of viewers who do fall for it. Like the old Faberge Shampoo commercial, where you tell two friends, and so on, and so on... before you know it, too many Americans are operating off a lie.

It also surprises me the amount of misinformation regarding the health care bill has been allowed to air. What ever happened to journalists checking their facts and reporting the facts, instead of bastardizing liberal interpretations of plain English?
