Baby Stewie

nydailynews.com:

Seth MacFarlane is finally spilling the secrets of "Family Guy" -- including the fact that, yes, baby Stewie is gay.

"We had an episode that went all the way to the script phase in which Stewie does come out," MacFarlane, the show's creator, says in the September issue of Playboy magazine. "It had to do with the harassment he took from other kids at school. He ends up going back in time to prevent a passage in Leviticus from being written: 'Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is an abomination.'

honestly I thought he was bi. there were a couple of episodes where he romanced girls and was "in love " with the cookie girl. and then there were episodes where it was clear he liked boys as well. Defining him as either spoils a bit of fun the writers could have had, with exploring his tastes as he developed, as well as sorta limiting his character a bit now. The fact that stewie was ambiguous in that regard made it more fun to see. than a solid definition.

But if they re-wrote that passage preventin' abdominations, how could they have Rush Limbaugh and Karl Rove on the show?

Do you understand how stupid it is to be afraid?

In the first place, Stewie is a frickin' cartoon! Gay/straight doesn't even enter into it.

Second, just because he has a more affected upper-class accent than both Frasier Crane and his brother doesn't mean diddley about the character.

Third, FG hasn't done anything interesting or funny for years. Let me know when McFarlane decides to fix that.

How is this news?

Um, Seth, we were aware of this.

this was in an issue of playboy, so i'm sure mcfarlane is taking the slant that some of the readers aren't too familiar with family guy. kind of like the simpson's movie, where they felt the need to basically set-up the cast as if it were a pilot- much to that movie's detriment.

but anybody who regularly watches family guy certainly already knows that stewie is gay. they allude to it all the time.
