Why wait for February? A Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue editor is on location in an unnamed Asian paradise and is tweeting photos of returning models Bar Refaeli, Brooklyn Decker and two unnamed "rookie" swimsuit models.

The twitter feed has updates from the Dubai airport enroute, some color commentary, and the photos below. What pic looks like a cover shot to you?

The only swimsuit cover I ever cared about was the one with Tyra Banks on the cover. SI had to be dragged along kicking and screaming before they even included black models in a swimsuit issue. These issues continue to be overrated and boring.

Worthy try, but they're no Stella Stevens.

Oh, well, on this ALLEGEDLY respectable website, the three "most popular" stories are:

Miss Universe Swimsuit Competition 2009: Who's Hottest? (PHOTOS, POLL)
Short Skirts And High Heels: Brit, Miley, Leighton & More: Who Wore It Best? (PHOTOS, POLL)
Ashley Greene NUDE PHOTOS: Naked Pics Of Twilight Star 'Unlawfully Displayed'

You notice how they put the word "PHOTOS" in all caps in all three, and the word "NUDE" in caps in the third one. They also rarely have stories about powerful women (i.e. Michelle Obama) that aren't in the "Style" section obsessing about their clothing and appearance.

I have to agree.... the last year has seen a substantial increase in "fluff crap" pieces on this website. Sometimes it is just nice to look at pretty people... but my attraction to 'clueless fluff' is about zero anymore.

At least they don't all look like 12 year old boys like the catwalk models do.

I dunno... how about when 60% of America gets up and does something about being morbidly obese? When the fleets of zeppelins at the mall take the processed food out of their mouths and do some exercise? Some of these models definitely need to work out more and build some muscle tone - I'll certainly grant there's a "concentration camp spectacle" to many models but the SI women tend to have muscle and fat in their appropriate locations.

60% of America is morbidly obese.... methinks your scale of reference is hosed.

I'd argue they need to hit the gym more and develop some muscle tone.

First, women are not a sport. Period. Second, until they start doing a "Swimsuit Issue" of male models--not even athletes!--in their bathing suits every year, not only will it continue to be the most sexist mass-approved magazine out there, it will be utterly unfair.

Life's not fair! Never was, never will be... Isn't that like kindergarten 101? Actually Women can be sport but I don't think you would understand... Men play games with Women, Women play games with Men... Same as it ever was...

In all seriousness, the Swimsuit Issue was born out of a need to fill the lull in between football and baseball seasons in winter. Someone realized that swimming was a sport, but the initial attempt of covering men's swimming and water polo didn't go over too well. Remember that SPORTS ILLUSTRATED is a male-oriented magazine.

So start your own sports magazine, include your own swimsuit issue, and make a few zillion dollars.

Otherwise, shut the h*ll up.

I'm sure if more women bought the Sports-specific issues they'd consider it.

YAWN!! If you have to stick your butt out that hard, that means you have none so stop. LOL!! Pretty girl, but typical shoot. All these mags look exactly the same and that's why a lot of them are folding.
