This is the equivalent of you living in Cali and someone holds a memorial for your family member in Indiana. They should pay the airfare (not partially, but in full, as Gary did), and lodging too.

Why should Joe Jackson be expected to just fly anywhere in the country that someone decides to hold a memorial out of his own pocket? And the entire band should pay out of pocket too? I don't think so! I think the town of Gary got a great deal because they didn't have to have anyone come there because the family held a memorial and it was televised and streamed across the world.

What do you expect from this money grubber, all he has ever cared about has been what can anyone do for ME, he even drove his own wife away with his lovely behavior. And he complains about being stereotyped. He's the damn template.

Helped "make" his family what they are, not "made". Mea culpa. :(

Joe Jackson was an "old-school" disciplinarian and helped made his family what they are, both good and bad. It seems as if we see more bad from him lately and he's also frightening to look at. Yikes!

Great guy in the Bizarro Universe.

Three worst fathers of all time:
3) Papa John Phillips
2) Ryan O'Neal
1) JOE JACKSON

Any questions?

(08-14) 08:49 PDT Gary, Ind. (AP) --

Gary's mayor says Michael Jackson's father wasn't paid a penny to attend a July 10 memorial for his son, but the city paid $5,000 to fly Joe Jackson and seven other people from Los Angeles to Gary.

Mayor Rudy Clay says the money paid to fly the group, including the musical group the Chi-Lites, did not cover all of its travel costs.

Clay says Jackson's father and the seven others footed their own hotel costs and all other expenses.

Clay says donations already made or promised to the city will cover all of the memorial's costs.

A call seeking comment was left Friday with a spokesman for the Jackson family.

DISGUSTING MAN!

The article states that is isn't sure if the City has paid the bill.
If the city hasn't then don't pay for this man's attendance at his son's Memorial.

On the day Eunice Kennedy Shriver is buried with emotion and love, we discover the very opposite end of the spectrum in truly human self degradation:

Joe Jackson.

Back in another life much more intense than this one ever was for him.

Until he becomes truly Human.
