Sarah Palin Claims Victory On Death Panels: "Gratified"

Sarah Palin crowed Friday over news that the Senate Finance Committee will leave end-of-life care out of its health care legislation.

"I join millions of Americans in expressing appreciation for the Senate Finance Committee's decision to remove the provision in the pending health care bill that authorizes end-of-life consultations (Section 1233 of HR 3200)," she wrote on her Facebook page. "It's gratifying that the voice of the people is getting through to Congress."

But the former governor of Alaska isn't satisfied. "That provision was not the only disturbing detail in this legislation; it was just one of the more obvious ones," she wrote. Palin went on to claim that health care reform will inevitably lead to single-payer, which will mean rationing. nationalized health care inevitably leads to rationing. There is simply no way to cover everyone and hold down the costs at the same time.

Of course, health care is already rationed. Even the head of Medicare under President Bush said: "Just because there isn't some government agency specifically telling you which treatments you can have based on cost-effectiveness, that doesn't mean you aren't getting some treatments."

I can't speak for warrior woman, but she bothers me because ever since she came on the radar I have to spend every family function re-educating my republican family about all the errors, exaggerations, and nonsense that she puts out there. If it was harmless nonsense it wouldn't be so bad, but when my 90 year old grandma becomes upset because she is fooled into thinking she won't receive health care anymore, then I have a problem.

National Health Care is wrong, wrong, wrong. Liberals have already proved that they don't respect life due to their disdain and disregard they show for unborn BABIES, that's right, I said BABIES. I wouldn't entrust a liberal to have anything to do with saving lives. Abortion is so wrong, we have been killing off our own children. Really, I don't blame Palin for what she said. It makes sense. God is real and life is precious, that is something that liberals apparently don't get. I wouldn't want to put a liberal in charge of life and death decisions regarding my own life. End of life experiences can be very difficult. Not everyone goes fast. I certainly don't want some left-wing government bureaucrat getting into my business. Much prayer and guidence is needed from God during that time, not dictates from some government official! I pray that nationalized health care is defeated!

Any one of these senators cannot speak for the entire committee about future “intentions” or “decisions” whilst they are in recess.

At first I was thinking she has become a cipher for the GOP trying to give credibility to false claims and advancing their agenda now that she has no accountability for what she says.

I too at first thought it be best that Sarah Palin leave the national scene, but keeping her around does more harm to the GOP than good, although they see it the other way around. She is throwing out falsehood after falsehood, and the media is constantly shooting them down, like wolves being hunted from a helicopter, with the only the GOP base are a positive sounding board.

Sure, she would convert some independent voters to her warped ideology, although the "I" word better associated with those people is "ignorant", but she would solidify the intelligentsia... you know, that group of people that were ostracized during the last 8 years, such as the scientists spreading hocus pocus disguised as global warming and evolution "theories", or god forbid, an alternative to the Patriot Act.

Most Physicians talk to ;you about haveing your wishes in writing. It doesn't cost anything hospitals have these forms free or you can write what you want and it will be carried out just have to have it noterized. The hospitals talk to ever;yone including seniors, and people in their 20 up. This is not a death panel, :You decide what you want and put it in writting and yes you can change your mined. Why did S.Palin want and attended a day in Alaska to have this done. Was it a death panel/ She needs to quit teling lies. So many people believe her,But she is a uneducated dimwit.
