Hillary Clinton's Headband Makes A Comeback In Cape Verde (PHOTOS, POLL)

Huffington Post   First Posted: 09/17/2009 5:12 am Updated: 05/25/2011 1:50 pm

When Secretary of State Clinton met with Cape Verde's Prime Minister Jose Maria Neves on Friday, she brought along an old friend: her headband. We haven't seen hide nor hair of Hillary's headband since the mid-90s, but she may be positioning her once-signature accessory for a comeback. What do you think about the Secretary's style revival?

Or check out Hillary's On The Job Hair or her Ups And Downs since serving as First Lady.

Quick Poll

Should she bring the headband back?

Yes

No

Who cares!

She's aged well.

leave Hillary alone...she's a kick ass woman...we don't obsess over men...let her do her darn job....I understand talking about first ladies...when she was one...cause they don't do as much as the president and office positions...she has a much more important job now..we should focus on that!

Oh, hahaha She looks younger Friday than she did years ago. ( Dorian Gray...)

Female S of S should get a pass when it comes to their hair. They have a gruelling travel schedule and don't have time to do up the 'do as professionally as they may like all the time. I recall the same kind of photos of MA. As long as it's not bed head, give the woman a break.

Maybe Heidi Klum and Michael Kors could visit with Hillary to update her look. She just needs some softening.

It's ok. I like it better than that other shorter manly hair-do she likes to rock.

She apparently is doing her own hair. For some reason, it always looks dirty.

Is there anything positive in your world? Your comments about The First Family and the Sec. of State, are always so negative and divisive.

Time for another little flare of temper from Hillary and followers? Does anyone really take her seriously in the SoS job? Really, seriously?

2Bfair: your comment makes me 'roll my eyes' .... I am sure you have no idea what the job of SoS is about, or even a clue about any international issue.

Clinton is one of the most respected Americans on the world stage. It was a brilliant move on Obama's part to put her in that job; when Hillary speaks, people listen, because they are confident that she knows what she is talking about.

Yes .... almost everyone.

Any more questions?

At first I thought it said "Hilary's senses make a comeback". Sorry.

Reading takes practice ... if you do it often enough, there comes a time when you get it right the first time, so keep trying, sweetie!

Someday, you might even get a job where reading comprehension skills are necessary, and you can communicate without those little hamburger icons pasted to your 'work station'.

I've never been a huge Hillary fan but I have to stick up for him on this one. I think she looks really good in these pictures with the headband. She looks like Meryl Streep and that's good.

She has a demanding job and is in her sixties. Give her a break! I think her choice of dark pants suits with bright jackets and tops is great. She has to get in and out of cars and there are always photographers around so pants are the best decision. Plus, she is the Secretary of State, for goodness sakes, she has to look dignified and play down her looks. She's there to represent the country with dignity and to conduct business, not to model flashy fashions.

Definitely agree. I like her headband. Looks nice on her. She's there to represent our country and not flounce around in dresses that are not age suitable. Give her a break already

I like Hillary but I'm not a huge fan of her fashion style. Who is her stylist?!

That being said ... I do kinda like the headband. I think it gives her nice a youthful look.

Hillary looks good, though I agree about the long skirt and boots, if she doesn't like her legs ... but, she works HARD and LONG and I am sure her priority is to be neat and comfortable. She is a no-nonsense woman, and I respect her immensely.

To answer the question, I love the headbands on her, it's very flattering to have her hair off her face.

Good Gawd. Headband? After 15, always a no-no.

First off it looks like she isn't traveling with a hairdresser which is good since everyone else is cutting back on expenses these days. When I was younger with less grey hair I was able to get my hair to look pretty good but now in my midfifties and with almost all grey hair(okay I get it dyed so I'm guessing I'm all grey) my hair is flatter and it's harder to have it do what I want it to do. So when I see her hair looking a bit flat I can sympathize and then to be in the heat as well all I can say she is just screwed. By the way to be fair men just need to wash and towel dry their hair and they are pretty much good to go and then they can wear the same suit for days and just change their tie and nobody comments on that.

Leave the poor woman alone. Some times women can be more sexist than men. If you want to put an end to it then stop contributing to it. She's a good Sec. of State. That's all that matters.
03:30 AM on 08/18/2009
but she is doing the SoS like she did being First Lady, thus the inevitable comparisons to 15 years ago. Hillary is a smile and greet, tourist in chief SoS. Her hair, her pantsuit, her resentment of Bill... deja vu.

You say that as if you have a clue about either one of those jobs!

Really? A guy who posts almost 10,000 comments about the Clintons in @ a year doesn't like Hillary, huh?

Shocker.
