Oliver Stone To Produce Documentary Series

NEW YORK — Showtime says filmmaker Oliver Stone is producing a 10-part documentary series on what he calls the secret history of America.

The series will focus on events of the past 60 years that went underreported when they took place, but crucially shaped the nation's history.

Showtime says newly discovered information on the Kennedy administration, the Vietnam War and America's role in the world since the fall of communism will be explored.

Stone, the Academy Award-winning director of "Platoon" and "Born on the Fourth of July," will serve as executive producer and narrator for the series. It's set to debut next year on Showtime.

I hope he does it. A lot of really bad things have been
done to Americans via government lies over the decades.
The make believe 'war on drugs' and SMOG 'devices' on

After making what some poor deluded folks thought was a documentar­y- "JFK"" it would be nice to see Oliver Stone give up blaming the 60s for his failures and tell some truths. Doubtful, I’m afraid.

Agreed with Alex. W was awful. What was with the Field of Dreams sequences? Awful. However, the concept behind this new project is forcing me to keep my Showtime subscripti­on after Weeds ends. I hope I'm not disappoint­ed.

I am intrigued by the prospect of what this program may end up being. He's a link to more informatio­n on Stone's documentar­y series. His film on George W Bush was like a soft-soape­d made for TV movie. Except for Josh Brolin's performanc­e, it was a very disappoint­ing experience­. Hoping for much better from Stone this time around.
