Conservatives For Patients' Rights Ad Mocks Obama's Vacation (VIDEO)

An organization taking credit for ginning up protesters at health care town halls has produced an ad mocking President Obama's vacation.

The ad by Conservatives for Patients' Rights begins with the words, "The beach is nice this time of year, but while President Obama vacations, concerns mount about his health care plan."

The Obama family leaves for a week-long vacation on Martha's Vineyard Sunday.

Conservatives for Patients' Rights was founded by multimillionaire investor and former hospital executive Rick Scott. The group's campaign against reform is being run by CRC Public Relations, the group behind 2004's "Swift Boat" campaign attacking Democratic nominee John Kerry.

The Boston Globe wrote about presidential vacations yesterday and pointed to some of the longer vacations taken by Obama's predecessors.

Other presidents have managed to squeeze in a bit more time off, and, as Lockhart notes, there is nothing wrong with that. Clinton took a 17-day vacation in Jackson Hole, Wyo., in 1995, and went six times to Martha's Vineyard, spending up to three weeks at a time in the bucolic spot. Both Presidents Bush enjoyed long vacations: George H. W. routinely spent the month of August at his family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, while his son, George W., spent the hot summer month on his ranch...

The second President Bush was excoriated for his long vacations. In 2002, a golfing Bush famously denounced "terrorist killers'' who set off bombs in Israel, then added, "Now watch this drive'' and hit another golf ball.

Obama's vacation may not be so restful. Earlier this week, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said, "We'll have some scheduling updates for you throughout the week on events that may or may not be added on health care."

Conservatives for Patients' Rights now if Scott was in reality in line with this he and his cohorts would not be fighting against patients rights and insurance reform that will help patients.Another one that is wealthy and does not care about others.Jon S. admits he is wealthy but says he does not mind paying a little more to help cover those under insured or not insured at all. IMO there are a lot like him out there and I for one an so glad to see them standing up to the opposition and calling them out with their misleading statements.That goes for both sides.

You can thank Mr. Bush and his cronies for Obama's need to spend so much to get our economy rolling again. Your prez had a great budget handed to him by Clinton. He passed on a huge bag of worms to Obama. At least Obama is spending money on getting OUR country repaired and back on it's feet, rather than tearing down other countries for absolutely no reason, and having to pay to rebuild them. You can blame 80% of our current deficit on Mr. Bush, and most of the additonal 20% was spent as a direct result of what was handed to Obama.. the worst economic conditions in America since the great depression. Never mind cheap shots, this is a welfare check shot. Bush was 'off on vacation,' mostly at his prop 'ranch' much of the time. The only time that I can recall him interrupting one was his hugely publicized Schiavo stunt. How low can repubs go? Just when one thinks this party has descended to far below sewer level one is confronted with EVEN LOWER BEHAVIOR. What next, Rush Limburger Cheese style insults to Michelle and the president's two daughters? Let's hope not--this is pretty bad.
