Has anyone else noticed how many brand spanking new folks have showed up spreading the GOP talking myths on the question of HC?

Shiny new profiles and old tired lies - it's like Xmas in August!

And if you ask which insurance lobbyist they work for, they get real annoyed.

All these guys are making it CLEAR AS DAY that there is absolutely no likelihood that a bi-partisan proposal can be created. They're shouting "Go away! Do not attempt to negotiate with us!"

How can a member of Congress get away with blessing a confessed terrorist?

By being a Republican.

I am really getting tired of hearing this bs from these right wing wackos. There are the same people who enthusiatically walked lockstep behind the Bush/Cheney administration who tried to subvert the Constitution at every turn and establish a unitary presidency. Who are they to be lecturing about
anti-democracy and un-american policies. Theirs were the most unamerican and anit-democracy policies ever seen in this country.

I'm sorry to say this, but he is my congressman. I just sent him an email telling him how I feel.

Perhaps you could do whatever is humanly possible to make sure that he is not re-elected.

It's becoming more and more apparent that the very best would be to go all out single-payer.

It's simply the best way to control and really REALLY cut costs.

Other top Industrial countries spend less then 11% of their costs on Healthcare.
America spends well over 16%.
There it is... Right there. The very nexus of our problem.
All the greed, all the BS whirls around it, but that's the central nut of our problem. What solidifies it is the fact that in our country, healthcare is a luxury. That's not right. Healthcare should not be a luxury, it should be a right.

The public option would help, I guess would be in the right direction, but eventually, single payer's where we'll need to be.

Yes, Healthcare companies would have to lay off 2/3 of their workforce, but the savings we'd all feel would open vast volumes of growth and more jobs, so they wouldn't be idle long, and would likely go to much better jobs.
Yes, CEO's would no longer be able to pay themselves 400 times what their average employee makes, but I think the great majority of us could live with that.

Progressive militias need to start forming and Liberals need to start showing they know how to "lock and load" too.

You're right. It doesn't take much perusing of right wing websites to discover there are a lot of extremists out there itching to murder their liberal neighbors. I have no idea what created so many monsters (though I have theories). All I know is that they can't be reasoned with, and they sure can't be wished away.

I thought this guy was a southerner. Here he is from California. But Redding is located in the central valley and he is par for the course.

The primary threats to democracy are corporate control of the political process and right wing political movements. Corporate control effects both parties, but more so the republicans than the democrats. Right wing political groups include the neocons (who are still around in spite of what some people think), elements of the military industrial complex and the religious right – all primary constituencies of the republican party. The greatest threat to democracy is the republican party.

This guy looks like he fits right in.

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to yell a bit. IS IT ME OR EVERYBODY MISSES THE MOST DANGEROUS PART OF THE ARTICLE?
Here's the following:
One speaker said he could trace his ancestors back to the Mayflower and said “they did not arrive holding their hands out for help.”
“I am a proud right wing terrorist,” he declared to cheers.
Herger praised the man’s attitude.
“Amen, God bless you,” Herger said with a broad smile. “There is a great American.”

THAT REALLY SHOULD BE A GREAT CONCERN, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE TOM COBURN WHO BLAMED THE OKLAHOMA BOMBING ON THE GOVERNMENT. And we're sitting here talking about one almost, in this context, insignificant soundbite.

Nope, been commenting about it since I read the article. Danger is near, on so many levels, including the actions of those who would rather give in to this insanity, just so they can have some peace and quiet.

It's really alarming. I can't believe how the MSM made some much noises about Pelosi's allegations concerning the CIA and they went totally quiet on this one.

Folks, It IS robbery to receive health care from tax payers, yet make it impossible to for them to purchase an affordable plan of their own.

Wally, care to step off that cute little Pink Elephant Ride at Wally World which continuously keeps going around in a circle and expound upon your lame notion that a Health Care Program is a threat to Democracy compared to what is quoted below by Rev. Anne Gehman?

"I am sorry that the truth is not always pleasant.

Christians need to be reminded that President Ronald Reagan signed the United Nations Genocide Treaty which laid the foundation to destroy all civil liberties and freedom of American citizens and bring them under world court law. George H. Bush signed the Hate Crimes Act which undergirded the Genocide Treaty and gave it legal authority in the USA. These two men jointly betrayed the American people. George W. Bush is now taking away more and more of American freedom under color of rescuing us from terror. I have long contended that far right Republicans are the ones who will finally turn America over to be ravished by One World treaties and contrivances. It is happening as I write". Nancy Reagan's Washington DC "pastor" Reverend Anne Gehman

Seems to me that some of my Liberties have been sold to the U.N. This I consider a threat to Democracy, perpetrated by your "Whats in it for ME, Do nothing Party" not a Health Care Package.

Thanks for exposing the Bafoon that you are, we won't be seeing you around much longer.
