Hannity Guest Nazism

A guest on Sean Hannity's show on Monday night compared Obama administration policies to Nazism.

Ironically, disabled Marine veteran David Hedrick, who attended a town hall held by Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA), was on the show to discuss his anger that the congressman compared unruly town hall protesters to "brown shirts"

So, Hedrick threw out his own charge against the White House, despite the fact that the administration itself has not used such language to describe protesters:

"National Socialism is very much what we see today in this administration, it's a policy almost line for line. It's the same economic policy, it's the same political policy. And so if they want to talk about Nazis, they better be careful about that conversation because they might find that the swastika is on their own arm."

Hannity responded, "OK," and continued to ask Hedrick about his experience at the town hall, where the veteran claims that Baird refused to apologize to him.

I'm thinking about joining our leaders and I'm gonna max out my credit cards, apply for food stamps, and cancel my healthcare.

Good idea and while you are at it, store up on g.uns and am.mo and move to the hills and live in a deep hole in the ground covered by cement.

Recipe: How To Get On ANY OTHER NETWORK

1. Find Town Hall meeting
2. Bring "homemade sign" to show you're for Healthcare.
3. Talk about being smarter than the "astroturf brownshirts"
4. Mention it's our right to have health care, and stay clear of mentioning who's going to pay for it.
5. Toss in some hippies with a trust fund for good measure
6. Agree what the Dems will say, even though you can't name the Speaker Of the House.
7. Tell everyone you read the 1000 page bill, and you even have it on your Kindle.

The only network that would work on would be Boulder PBS. Otherwise, the rest of them have been bought up by Rupert Murdoch and GE and other rich corporations supported by repubs., no doubt the same fat cats you voted for out of ignor.ance.

My spouse served two tours in Viet Nam, he continued to serve as a Navy Recuiter until he was injured on the job and retired in 1991. This so called vet has his head up in a dark spot. My spouse receives disablity benefits. No problem with VA healthcare. This vet has a chip on his shoulder and is totally clueless. The Fox Noise network looks for malcontents, they fould on in this fella. As for the VA booklet that is handed out to vets is not a do yourself in book. As always with Hannity don't tell the truth. This booklet was published under the former Bush WH. How disgusting to take an informative booklet and try to turn it into something it isn't.

Oh Christ David, are you at it again ?

You were, from Day-One, looking for an out from the military, and you found it in the bottom of a beer can 100 miles from any action !

And David, why the he$$ are you in Washington State ?

David, the majority of the warriors in your unit thought you were a sniveling punk !

Apparently we were all right ?

Who paid for David Hedrick's treatment after his injury? Who is paying his and his family health care now?

Some history for uneducated Hannity and guest. Hitler and the Social Democrats were enemies. Many Socialists and Communists died in concentration camps. The Social Democratic party goes back to long before Hitler was born, to the Bismarck time, it is Germany's oldest party. The beginning of universal health care goes back to 1883 and Hitler was no fool, he kept it because it was good. The Brown Shirts, the SA, were Nazi thugs and did intimidate ordinary people. Just as we now have organized mob to intimidate people, just no uniforms. Insulting and screaming is not asking legitimate questions.
We need to protect the Constitution from the Republicans. They are the once who want to bring down a duly elected government. They are the people who tried to destroy the Clinton administration and had the SC and not the voters decide an election.

Freshman Congressman Keith Ellison (D-Minnesota) compared President Bush to Adolf Hitler, while implying that the White House was involved in the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11.

Read your link and Ellison did not compare Bush to Hitler..

What he did do was compare the tragedy of 9/11 to Reichstag fire which was used as a pre-text to give Hitler unlimited power. He made no direct connection between Hitler and Bush, and that's a fact.

He even added::
"
The fact is that I'm not saying [Sept. 11] was a [U.S.] plan, or anything like that because, you know, that's how they put you in the nut-ball box -- dismiss you."
"

The Republicans had a hissy fit over this..... so you just proved our point that comparisons either directly or indirectly to Hitler and Nazi's should be condemned.

By the way... I think Ellison was absolutely correct. The Bush Administration did use 9/11 to strengthen executive power and no one can deny that. Just like Nero used the great fire of Rome to blame the Christians and to expand his palaces.

And I like to add..... NewsBusters Sux.

I think Ellison should have left HitIer out of it, just like Repubs should leave the N@zis out of the current.

Yes, there are some nuances. Ellison was talking about a specific incident and putting it in historical perspective. Here the wingnuts are claiming "Obamas policies are the same as the N@zi's." That is certainly more of a direct comparison. But, either comparison is bad.

Yes, the Bush administration used 911 as an excuse to limit freedoms, expand the power of the executive, and do some highly inappropriate things. However, it still does not equate to HitIer.

The Republican party was pretty close in their statement, "To compare the democratically elected leader of the United States of America to HitIer is an absolute moral outrage which trivializes the horrors of N@zi Germany." I wonder when we can expect the Republicans to reissue this statement in relation to the current comparisons?

By the way, for JuliusR, stating that the White House was not involved with 911 is NOT the same as implying they were. One would think that would not need to be pointed out.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071219080630AAtoctQ

Since so many libs call Bush a Hitler, should they be worried?
I mean if Bush is that bad, would they fear a "Night of the long knives"? By now shouldn't all the liberals on this forum be in Concentration Camps and being used as slave labor? Heck, why did he even have the 2004 election?

What is the point of posting a question from yahoo answers?

It is an irrelevant question anyway. Almost nobody "called Bush a HitIer". All you have posted are a couple of vague comparisons, not direct statements saying Bush WAS a HitIer.

Irrationality and ignorance of these people!!! They think national socialism is Nazism. That's like saying all round objects are baseballs. Nazism equals fascism which is historically aligned with extreme right-wing beliefs and policies. Check out the definitions of these words before you use them and use them correctly. Otherwise, you're just dumb another ranter.

Norway, Sweden, France and other democratic republic have national socialism to some extent. They are not Nazi countries.

totalitarian movement led by Adolf Hitler as head of the Nazi Party in Germany. In its intense nationalism, mass appeal, and dictatorial rule, National Socialism shared many elements with Italian fascism. However, Nazism was far more extreme both in its ideas and in its practice. In almost every respect it was an anti-intellectual and atheoretical movement, emphasizing the will of the charismatic dictator as the sole source of inspiration of a people and a nation, as well as a vision of annihilation of all enemies of the Aryan Volk as the one and only goal of Nazi policy.

"Charismatic dictator"???????????? BARRY !

Whoa!! This is your argument for Dems being nazis?? Wow. Let's break down your definition of nazism.
anti-intellectual - Republican value. You won't hear democrats calling a Harvard education "elitist". Bush was anti-science. Republican talking heads seem to often have no more education than a high school diploma....

atheoretical - Republican value. Faith based - Christian beliefs above all else.

emphasizing the will of a charismatic dictator - Republican value. Bush was elected because people thought he seemed like a guy they'd like to have a beer with. An "Average Joe" not particularly bright, and a terrible leader. Palin won her feverishly loyal base, purely on charisma. There is no intelligence, or substance to back it up. Obama was elected for his intelligence and vision. Not just for charisma.

A vision of annihilation of enemies - Ever heard of a place called Iraq?

There is nothing totalitarian at all in what Obama is doing.

If it were that Totalitarian he would be able to pass his agenda by decree and there would be no difficulty in passing the Health Care Reform -now would it.

Do you know what totalitarian means - or is it just another Scary descriptive words you simpleton conservatives like to throw out their because it keeps your base frightened, scared and angry? Unfortunately .

That's the only emotions they know how to respond to.

Your base may still believe the Bullchit. But you are no longer fooling the enlightened.

Mr. Hedrick may have served his country and he is to be commended for that.

But he is not a historian, nor a political scientist. He has an opinion that he is entitled to. My D.I. told me in boot camp. "Opinions are like a**holes; everybody's got one."

One of the largest problems we face in this country today is that no one is willing to listen to the other side, nor willing to give the other side the benefit of the doubt. This is not good for the country. I see all of the 'my side is good, the other side is simply evil' rhetoric leading us down a very, very bad path. We need to put bickering aside, and try to see the a point of view other than our own. It's entirely possible that they are acting in good faith as well. Please, for the good of the country, seek out information sources from other than your normal echo chamber. You may even learn something!

No the problem isn't listening to the other side, it's listening to fact. Really, death panels...nazis...please, is a repub so fearful that their fear overcomes their rational thinking??? Repubs should read a history book...nazism is an ultra RIGHT wing political philosophy - hardly liberal. Repubs like to think of themselves as some sort of superior, more patriotic, stronger, when in fact they demonstrate weak minded, fearful mentality. Think!!!!

So does Joe-the-jarhead consider the VA Socialist health care? That's what it is. These ignorant stooges don't even know the meaning of Socialism, Communism or fascism. They are just pub whining points they have been trained to regurgitate like parrots.

Your right it is Socialist health care and it sucks the big one. Unless you are using it you have no idea just how poor it is, and that is for just a fraction of the total population. Imagine how bad it will be for 300 Million people.

"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong
enough to take everything you have." Thomas Jefferson

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

As a disabled American I do receive Social Security Disability and Medicare. I live on less than $1,300 per month (my rent is $900). I have no complaints about Medicare other than the fact that the pubs set up Medicare Part D so that the government has to pay the full retail price to the drug companies, making it illegal for the government to even bargain with the drug companies. So much for the free market. As a recipient of both programs I think I have the authority to comment on the quality of services I receive. What gives you the authority to say it sucks other than what Hannity dictates to you?
