The whole fracas involved his wife and to relate this to his party affiliation when his activity had nothing to do with that is incredibly irresponsible reporting by this obviously Bush league stl today...another example of guilt by association...and a stretch if there ever was one.
Guilt by association is the proverbial tar baby that serves as the epitaph for many a promising political career. And this sad episode is no exception.
I just got an email from Jeff Smith announcing his resignation as State Senator and accepting and acknowledging his part in the election scandal. It is truly sad because Seanot Smith was someone who really wanted to make a difference and actually enacted some very good legislation amidst a very hostile right wing dominated House and Senate in Missouri. Really sad to see that greed and ambition claimed another man with great potential from achieving his goals for himself and for us. I am very sad as a Missourian today.
As a former Missourian, I think you are better off that this guy got caught before he became too entrenched and untouchable (Smith that is.) We don't need corrupt dems.

This doesn't even appear to be a "political" act. This could have been a person, man or woman, with an ax to grind. Might have been a checker at the grocery story. This was just some hot head that went after his wife's lawyer. I'll bet the lawyer is a Democrat. He just happened to be a strategist for a short period of time. Why is this on HP as a political story?

Ohlsen may have been a Democratic "operative", but if you read the full story, this sounds more like a vindictive personal/domestic crime relating to his divorce, not a political crime. A crime for sure, but not political. He's just an ordinary creep.
Is that how you would explain the situation is there was a republican strategist caught doing this?
