The DEMs blew an incredibly obvious opportunity: They should have started with Medicare for all, creating a more efficient single-payer system, and putting the GOP in the position of attacking Medicare.

Instead, they have now drifted and waffled so badly that even the GOP is trying to beat them over the head with Medicare.

This was blown so badly, and so consistenly, that I'm starting to wonder if even the DEMs ever had any serious intention of real health care reform for the American People, if that meant cutting out the highly profitable insurance corps that pay both the GOP and DEMs so well.

The Republican "policy" states nothing about the rationing of health care going on right now by the health insurance companies--lifetime caps, denial of payments and services, etc.

Seniors' health care bill of rights:

Excellent policy but a strategic mistake.

Because none of what the Republicans are stating in their "Seniors' health care bill of rights" is in the proposed Health care reform legislation, the Dems should embrace it. Call the Repubs bluff. Have a vote to endorse it. Put the Repubs on the record supporting and preventing cut backs to Medicare. Since there are no cuts to services and there are no 'Death panels', the Dems can support this in good conscience. Should drive the 'small government' /no entitlement/fiscal conservative base crazy or show the Repubs true colors i.e. manipulation of fear for political gain.

It's Us against Them...
Who is Us and who is Them? "Us" is the American people. "Them" is the people who manipulate "Us".

The health care debate is a sham. The American people spoke in November of 08. The mandate of the people was clear, "We want change". What we have gotten is more of the same. The left and right paradigm is nothing more than a way to divide and conquer the people. Propaganda put forth by the Oligarchy uses ideology to pit one side against the other.

Disinformation is used to foment one side into believing the other side wants to take what they have and give it to people who don't deserve it. The other side "thinks" they have the correct information, but they have also been deceived.

If the true wishes of the peoples mandate were being addressed, there would be action to make those wishes come true. The single payer plan would be on the top of the stack of plans being considered. Instead we have the gang of six compromising with the GOP. We have been conned into thinking the "public option" will solve our problems, when really if one takes the time to read such bills as HR 3200, it is a giveaway to the insurance companies and corporate health care and will solve none of the problems we face today and will face in the future.

Continued...

There are some people who think that we should wait until the final bill is ready for review. By then, it will be too late. It will be voted on in the house and the senate and end up on the presidents desk to be signed with great fanfare. This is why we must push now to have our voices heard.

There is already two plans that will lower cost and provide quality health for all Americans. They have already been written. HR 676 proposed by the House and S 703 in the Senate will accomplish what we need, but the establishment has manipulated Washington into proposing other plans.

It is "Us" against "Them".

It's time to put the gop in front of "the panel".

Seems like the merciful thing to do in their final days of existence.

I'm thinking that this nothing "reform health care for Seniors" will help to make some of those seniors who think that the government is out to kill them a safe feeling once they understand that the provisions of Steele's reforms are already in place.

My first thought is why don't people read instead of listen to whatever Fox dishes out for the day, but I have a concentration problem and all the words seem to run together, so I can't absolutely blame anybody.

I have a real problem with people believing that any administration is out to kill them off. Just seems plain stupid.

This shows how out of touch and i g n0r ant Republicans are:

STEELE: I mean the reality of it is that, you know, this single payer program known as Medicare is a very good example of what we should not have happen with all of our health care.

Enough said!

It seems in one breath they denounce Medicare and in the next breath they praise it. Why can't people see this?

Two reasons

1) Most people know that the GOP are li@rs and cannot be trusted
2) The rest are lemmings for the party.

Because Big Media is not really informing us of what's going on with the health care debate. They are in the partisan battle mode because it gets more viewers than the details. Consequently, we are left debating fiction while the real details have nothing in common with the public discourse. When the final bill makes it to the floor for a vote, I predict we will still not be given the facts about it. In the name of "objectivity" the networks will leave it up to the partisan's to make their case. Bad politicians come and go, but the corporate media is constant in failing to inform.
