Nice work, folks. The video memorial is quite a retrospective. How I hope we can pass the healthcare reform that he championed for fourty years. I hope the act can carry his name.
Rest in peace Teddy knowing that the democratic party and President Obama will get real healthcare/insurance reform passed for you and the American people.

No mention of his so called excuse for driving off a bridge with a young woman left to, well you know the rest of the sad pathetic story.
Seems no one wants to remember the real Ted here.
Ted Kennedy could have hidden for the rest of his life from the embarrassment that was Chapaaquididck, his alcohol abuse and his marital/family problems. Instead, he chose a life of public service from which millions of American now better off. I think that Senator Kennedy displayed great courage in his choice. Yes, his personal life was messy and at times displayed poor judgement. But his very real commitment to civil rights and civil liberties for all Americans is not diminished it.
No one has ever forgotten that, neither did Senator Kennedy. He did more for the American people then any other senator in the history of our country.
Bless you Teddy. Say hello to Bobby and Jack. Watch over us and direct us in our daily comings and goings. Inspire us to be as selfless as you were and to place others well being as a priotrity. Help us to be kind. When you speak with the angels, tell them how much we all need healthcare. If anyone can present our need, you certainly can. Don't worry that it wasn't passed in your lifetime, your work will inspire all of us to do the right thing. When it finally passes Teddy, I will lift one in your honor and remember you.
I think Brian Williams said: "in lieu of flowers, pass healthcare". All of "my" flowers are coming your way Teddy. Bless you.

It got no coverage at the time, though it's remarkable in hindsight, but here is his speech opposing the war before the vote:

Nothing he says in any of those speeches is crontradictory to how he lived. The Kennedys were, in deed, a rare breed. I am not sure if we'll ever have another Senator who believes what he says. The Alaska speech tribute to MLK was brilliant. The arguments made then can be made today; there is a sickness permeating our society grounded in hate. The minimum wage argument is another one which can be used in today's healthcare debate.
Like I said when JFK Jr. died in that place crash - and the Bush's will live forever.
