Palin's SarahPAC Taken To Task By Feds For Illegal Contributions

Former Gov. Sarah Palin's political action committee gave excessive contributions to two well-known Republicans and also is facing demands from the federal government for more detailed financial information on a number of fronts.

The deficiencies are highlighted in a five-page letter sent Aug. 19 by a Federal Elections Commission staffer to SarahPAC treasurer Tim Crawford. The FEC wants answers by Sept. 24.

The Washington Post reported as of March 3, 2008, Bush "lodged his 879th day spent in whole or in part at Camp David or his sprawling estate in Crawford, Tex."

At this rate, Bush spent FOUR months of EACH of EIGHT years at Camp David and his Crawford ranch. All at tax payer expense, including the Secret Service, 747 Air Force 1, the helicopter Marine 1, limousines, entourage, staff, local security, etc.

Where is the outrage from so called fiscal conservatives? Does anyone still believe Bush was a fiscal conservative or a responsible President? Please don't tell me Bush was always working.

What happened to the Alaska Fund Trust report that should of been out months ago? Did the trustee skip town?

An independent lawyer concluded the Alaska Fund Trust (AFT) is inadmissible by Alaska's state law. He also suggested ways for this situation to be resolved and the Trust dissolved.

The Palin friendly Personnel Board is the decider and out on their summer recess. The ethics charge regarding the AFT will be decided by this Board sometime after its return in September.

I predict if the Board rules in favor of Sarah, protests will ensue and Sarah will be taken to court. She will have to accept thorough investigations and depositions unlike she has seen before. Issues must be addressed like why doesn't the Trust disclose itemized expenses, why her family is entitled to taking money out of the legal fund, how long will the Trust last now that she isn't the Governor anymore, which legal expenses are eligible, which are not, etc. Lengthy litigation will be very costly to Palin and she may not be able to legally recover these costs from donors.

Despite the fact that such trusts are or have been used by other politicians in the country, Sarah's AFT is subject to Alaska law which differs from laws in other states.

If sued, the money in the Trust will be tied up for years. Poor Sarah will just have to pay her legal expenses out of her multi-million dollar book deal. How unfair is that? :-)

Trustee Kristan Cole is still asking for money for the governor of Alaska and as far as I know Palin is not the governor anymore. What is up with that?

Sarah Palin was/is so deeply involved in corruption and scandals that she had to quit in order to save some face (and try and sell a book or two). Self righteous people like her who get caught in their own web of corruption will try and do or say anything to deflect the consequences for their actions. I think that she will ultimately be indicted and convicted on Federal corruption charges.
