Former state Sen. Tom Wiens, R-Castle Rock, has formed an exploratory committee to look into a run for the U.S. Senate in 2010.
Wiens, who served in the state House from 2003-04 and in the Senate from 2005-08, could be entering a crowded field of Republicans looking to unseat Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet, who was appointed to the post in January by Gov. Bill Ritter.
